..he's outstanding. The only trouble with these clips is they get my hopes up. If he's got a price tag of £20m I'd gazump everybody and offer £30m.
Not so sure now, not after they've been done for poaching that 11 year old from us.Settled in the north west, we have a decent relationship with city - are some logistics we have going for us.
On other notes, IF Lukaku does stay this season, then every agent will know he is off come next summer almost certainly so the opportunity to be the number 1 will be their soon, plus with it likely we won't have any player on the books whose actually ever played striekr for us besides Rom come the summer - game time will be a hell of a lot more than at City
(side note - IF we are offering to pay Pickford 90k pw - then maybe it shows a club strategy of trying to target younger players where we can give them a massive increase over what they currently earn - and more than the other teams would consider) - offering to triple a players wage etc - will turn a head fast i guess. Be an interesting strategy like, how willing would top European teams be to offer teenagers 70-80k pw on their first big move?

...his back to goal technique is really good, love how he keeps the defender off with one arm in very much the same manner as Ibrahimovic. All natural shielding ability is that. When the ball is in front of him he really does have a look of a Torres about him. I appreciate the standard is poor but he would certainly compensate Lukaku leaving.

Re: Sigurdsson. I like him, he works hard and his set pieces are hugely valuable.
He has zero creativity in open play though. This season he's had 0.72 open play key passes per game which is around the bottom 5% for players in his position. For reference, Barkley has 1.72 per game. An elite player in that position like De Bruyne has 2.51. If we buy Gylfi then I think we'll need a clever creative passer to be a part of our attack/midfield. An attacking midfield of, say, Sigurdsson / Rooney / Barkley leaves us with very little 'magic' around the box and very little pace too. I'd be surprised if we weren't thinking about buying another player in that area.
I'm sure this won't do us any harm in us trying to get him to Everton. The rumours always have his price valuation from Ajax at around the 20m mark, and totally agree, like we did with Lukaku - sometimes you just need to risk that what your seeing is the real deal and pay to get it, ask what they want, pay them over that to get the deal done fast and don't mess around with penny pinching on fee or contract - make the decision for club and player an easy one.
Koeman being an Ajax legend, should 100% have an in with the club as well which could facilitate things.
We act like normal,. then we will see the all too familiar stories in 3-4 years time when the lads tearing it up at the very top - about how we could have signed him etc

I don't want to jump the gun on him but he already looks like he'd be far more beneficial in team play than Lukaku ever has been. Great first touch.
I like your optimism and agree that on the clips we've seen of him he does look to have a great first touch. But then you need to think about the physicality of the premier league and its higher intensity. I'm not suggesting the lad doesn't possess the tools to adapt, but he would find it a lot harder in the premier league.I don't want to jump the gun on him but he already looks like he'd be far more beneficial in team play than Lukaku ever has been. Will get a taster of how he'd handle it as they look like playing United in a few weeks time in the EL final mate.
Sadly i think he will do so well on that stage that it may attract a lot more interest
