Squad depth is over rated. You get to many in and players start moaning they arent getting enough games.
A squad always manages 1 way or another.
If we were going to get any sort of depth id like it to be in Schneiderlin's position, its a much more harder position to play and its glaringly obvious we miss him when he is not playing

Lets just stick with Jagielka as captain then. Baines and Coleman, maybe schneiderlin show more 'leadership' than the man currently wearing the arm band. Jagielka is a good player but damn weak as a leader.

Good defender but a loose cannon position wise, reminds me of david luiz mk1, just kept going box to box lol but if Koeman can grab him then we should do well to get him.

I think he's fantastic already..like a one man army for them, similar to koulibaly but 5 years younger and looks like he could be at his level down the track...don't forget hes playing with other inexperienced lads as well.

Money obviously talks - especially when speaking to Dutch teams as they always have an abundance of playerse coming through - i just think this one may be unlikely. Would love to see it happen and the Koeman Feyenoord link will always help too

Neither Davies or Gueye are capable of playing that holding role. Barry is too old too against most teams and another year older will see him be less useful still.

McCarthy looks on his way out, Besic is made of broken biscuits

It's an obvious need to bring one in there, being able to play cb means that getting enough playing time shouldn't be an issue and it gives us some options.

For a 10-12m fee it seems good business on every level.

That's the type of quality we should be aiming at for squad players. Good and with versatility, it's also why I'd snap United's hand off for blind as well.

CB's: Williams (keep), RFM (keep), Jags (sell), Holgate (keep and purely at CB next season), Galloway (undecided) - Need to add 2 more that will be first choice with Williams, RFM and Holgate rotating out.

LB's: Baines (keep), Garbutt (evaluate pre-season) - Need a LB that will either push Baines to play better or just flat out replace him straight away.

RB's: Coleman (keep), Kenny (keep) - Kenny looked okay but has only played ~90 mins of PL football so we can't have solely him till whenever Coleman returns and we don't yet know how he'll return. Need a RB in that's equal or better than Seamus to start.

Players we've been linked with I like and seem attainable: Keane, Gibson, Tierney, Trippier, Tete, Sanchez (last summer), Robertson (undecided).

Dreamland? Throw a pot of gold at Benjamin Mendy. I also really rate Paul Baysse but he's injury prone.

For me, If we sign a young RB that blocks Kenny long term...an experienced player will be also blocking Kenny when coleman is back...

I'd be in for Koulibaly, Gimenez, Sanchez, VVD (I've probably forgotten someone). I'd be matching asking prices now and then talking with all 4 of them and saying the first two to agree join with what they want (within our budgets).

Then I'd go and get Sessegnon from Fulham and he and Galloway can push and rotate with Baines.

We will be extremely fortunate to get one of them mate, the lad you forgot I guess is Manolas, as for Sanchez, he'd struggle badly right now in this league, think stones and luiz first time around, he hasn't got the experience yet, plus its pretty well known that Barca want him when he's ready to move.

Sessegnon looks a good chance of being promoted with Fulham mate, he's super hyped and English he'd cost about 15m minimum and every top club would be in for him.

Set your aspirations lower mate, we won't and couldn't spend 100m this summer on our defence not even counting 20m for a new keeper

Gueye / Davies will end up competing as well I think
Then Klaassen and another like a Tielemans to compete for the 3rd spot

That's an ideal central midfield in terms of numbers and types....

I would put Klaassen In as captain, coleman, baines or morgs also in with a shout IMO. I want a leader, someone who will drag the team forward, someone who will throw abit of snide in there too. Mr Nice Everton should be dead now. Time to mix it with the big boys.

I think Sanchez will surprise you, see him against utd...hes top notch. I think we aim high and get 2 centre backs.

Sessegnon would get games for us, he wouldn't anywhere else....

Listen, im a fan of him, I watch ajax often to see how the likes of Klaassen and dolberg are getting on. Sanchez in eredivisie is a good player, but when I seen him in Europe against Lyon he just started going mental, at one point he tried taking on Diakhaby one vs one when they needed to hold on to survive lol The guy was a mad man !

Baines isn't a leader and wont be in the team for long.

Morgan and Coleman are good vice captains....maybe klaassen for his determination makes sense.

I don't see him scoring so much in the prem though or being a star player....and we have 3 centre mids who are all very good players and I think we need a star in there ideally...

They just asked Tielemans if he has signed with AS Monaco. (It was reported earlier today that he had signed with AS Monaco for 25 mil. €)

He said he hasn't signed anywhere but has multiple offers.

It's supposed to be between Monaco, Atlético Madrid, Juve, Lyon, Chelsea, PSG and Everton.
