Pickford looks to me like one of those GKs that have a purple patch at a club in trouble and needing to make all kinds of saves, some of which come off and they're the hero for a couple of games. But put them in a team that expects clean sheets and the situation changes for them.

I'd only go for a GK at a team that's been doing very well.

by that logic mate we would never have signed Neville Southall, or Nigel Martyn for that matter as he was stuck on the bench for ages at Leeds before we signed him. Joe Hart if we'd paid the 250k when he was in the lower leagues would have earned us that back so many times over.

It ain't the kids fault what's in front of him is absolutely trash and I trust other clubs fans who see these players week in week out. I'm basing my opinion on about 10/13 games and I've seen enough to think he'll be a great signing for us.

Happy to be vaulted if we do sign him and he turns out crap but I'm telling you know Dave, I'll be body popping all over the shop if we get this kid signed up.

He's not a great keeper at all, and people think he's a born leader because he shouts a lot to copy his dad.
Vice-captain for the team, and widely reported as being one of the leaders on the pitch and in the dressing room.
He is the only Leicester player who has kept his performance levels from last season.
Will instantly improve us

Given the choice, and the money spent I'd seriously consider Joe Hart.

Cheaper than Pickford, better than Pickford, more experience and more of a winner.

Having England's No1 also reflects well on the club too.

Honestly mate? Did you watch them in the first half of the season? Like many other Leicester players he had the season of his life last year. However he is 31 and that stands to be the only great season he's had in his career. An utter freak.

Is he going to be England No 1 for much longer though??

Seems to be increasingly prone to the odd howler - possibly peaked already, had his day and is on his way down?

We're in a different place now though...certainly than we were when going for Martyn. We've just taken two chances on GKs and they didn't come off. I'd take a GK from the Bundesliga before I'd take any from this league apart from Schmeichael, De Gea, Courtois.

Would agree with this. He makes some Hollywood saves but overall; his positioning isn't the best because he doesn't read the game well enough and crucially, he's only 6"1.
We should be going for Timo Horn. The man is a unit and a fantastic keeper.

Liverpool and Leicester both signed German keepers and not to great success. Not a guaranteed success to go there

Stekelenberg he probably thought was a no brainer, Joel was already here. 2 experienced keepers who have failed to take the chances offered to them with too many faults in their game which they don't seem to be able to rectify.

Trust me Dave, you'll be body popping in your living room once this kid signs and proves his worth.

Don't City want £20m?

Also his wage would be much higher than Pickford will get.

Would be happy enough to get either though so not fussed.
