Gibson at boro might have a relegation clause
the bozo is on account 3 or 4 and laughed off every message board he posts on for being a stupid transfer deadbeat. i was kinda hoping he would have got the message by now and changed his approach but know why he cannot? because he is a bonafide bozo.
How have we missed our chance? Transfer window isn't open yet and they were never going to sell in January. It's going to be tough but I think we could get him. He will get first team football with us, possibly not guaranteed at other teams.
I dont think Utd really want Keane, I think its more likely that Mourinho wants Lindelof or Verane but at the same time they will be worried about Everton strengthening. Utd I think will show an interest and drive the price up for us probably towards the 30mil mark so they get the most from their 25% clause and deplete our resources to go for other players. Mourinho as a rule just doesn't buy british and think he would rather go for Verane if he can get him.
Mourinho is quite a loyal manager though isn't he and he will go back for players that he has worked for in the past. He bought Eto'o over to Chelsea, tried to get Lampard over to Inter, signing Ibra for Utd. If he has a rapport with a player he will go back for them. Verane has had injuries and not been in week in week out at Real and think he will be the one Utd go for, especially if Real step up their approach for De Gea....surprised United aren't in the market for Koulibaly.

I have honestly not seen enough of Koulibaly to know how good he is but having read reports on him I see him as more of an out an out defender like Bailly, whereas I think Mourinho may be after a ball playing centre half..... Even as I write this I can feel the knives being sharpened regarding Koulibalys 90% pass success rate from the FIFA boys and world scouts we have on here. Just from what little I have seen he may be able to pass the ball but I don't remember him being uber-comfortable a la Verane or dare I say it a Stones from a few seasons ago.
From the albeit little i've seen of him, he carries the ball forward a fair bit (like VVD does), doesn't look like it given his build etc, but would say he is a ball playing cb, but also one who is strong and physical and a top defender as well (if any of that makes sense)
As I've said though, that's based on not seeing the lad that much really - may have just caught a couple of games out of the norm for him
Think last season he played the most forward passes for a defender or something like that which is pretty good.
As i said mate, i think we are interested in him and VVD for the one position, both got great pace, both very good in the air, and both can carry the ball forward and pass well, sems we are after that 'type' of centre back and we have another shopping list for the second centre back who is more of an old school type cb (Gibson, Keane etc)
Makes sense really thinking about it, and some of our best centre back partnerships over the years have followed that type of blend between the two
Well we've never really replaced Distin in the pace/strength department.
