Our transfer strategy just doesn't seem coherent at all. 3 or 4 attacking players brought in, who all lack pace and ariel presence, and all like to play in similar areas.
No direct replacement for Lukaku.
A lack of defensive cover.
Lack of natural width in the first X1.
No wing backs coming in, when that is the system we've started with.

I just don't see a plan or strategy, just see a crop of signings who only make sense individually.

Honestly since it looks like we are loaning a striker (which, as none of our top targets are available/want to come is fine by me, why waste money on someone we are not sure of) I wish we would just offer 55m for Van Dijk. Make Southampton say no.

At the very least then the defense is sound, which may be handy if we don't score too many goals.
