in retrospect yes, but i really don't want DCL getting any game time this season tbh, he needs a really good loan for a year or two.

With those options you have rooney and sandro who will be in the starting XI more often than not in the attacking roles behind the striker too.

Koeman rates him and he's just scored a winner in a World Cup final (u20s like)!

He played really well the other night and is a hard grafter and has that bit of quality as well, and is versatile.

I'd much rather have him pushing for a place in the squad over the course of the campaign than another striker on a big fee and big wages. Put that towards getting our primary targets in.

Plenty of time left in the window though and then we'd have January if we really did need another.

If we're bringing in a target man, that's 3 senior strikers we'll have who could/should be ahead of DCL

I don't think DCL is yet of the standard we need in the 1st XI, but equally he needs to develop so I would hope that a loan move either to The Championship or a promoted Premier League club etc could be a possibility as he will need games

I think he will be back up central striker to whoever we bring in, with Rooney, Sandro, Lookman, Gylfi, Mirallas and Bolasie when fit all playing in the right and left striker roles.

Depends how many games we are talking.

Realistically Rooney, Sandro and whoever the target man is should be ahead of him in a central role. We'll have Barkley/Sigurdsson, Mirallas, Sandro, Rooney, Lookman, Mirallas and Bolasie (when fit) who can all play wider in the front three positions (where I really don't want to see DCL play).

I actually don't think we'll be loaning DCL out either because Koeman seems to really like him, but equally with all those players in front of him, it's hard to see how he's going to get enough minutes under his belt to help him develop. Europa League or not.
