To be honest mate, I don't think the club could have done anymore to keep him. Offered him 140k (biggest contract in our history) and all he does on international duty is disrespect the club with his comments. No one wants Rom to stay more than me and I'd be made up if he signed a news contract. but what I want is players who are hungry to play for the club and the shirt. Sadly Rom doesn't want to be part of that.
I agree mate, i would accept he will eventually leave, my point is we shouldnt passively sell him this summer, he has two years on his deal, so forcing him to stay i think is totally justified, there is no incentive for him to be gash in a world cup year. Its of no advantage to Everton to sell him, so why should we.
If we are trying to compete with the clubs ahead of us, why should we sell our best players to them when there is no advantage to us to do so.
We need to stop thinking that our best players need to leave here to fulfil ambitions and just passively accept it.
Time to rattle a few cages both Lukaku and other clubs.
