The main focus will surely be the move to BMD. I cannot see a wholesale revamp. I think more of the the loanees will get converted. Maybe get a cut price on Broja and Mangala given their injuries. both would have been nailed on starters if not injured. Lindstrom is a Moyes player all over, and Alcaraz looks like a keeper. add 4 more new faces to that and I think we have a good side.
We've got to stop signing broken players. Full stop. I know that's maybe a bit harsh on Mangala but Broja, in particular, is a walking, talking gingerbread man.

Nobody really wants Keane or Doucoure here. The way I look at it though - we have loads and loads of work to do this summer. If the size of the task is an issue in itself, then I could live with another year of Michael Keane as 4th choice centre back I suppose. Same goes for Doucour (although it sticks in my throat a bit). For very reduced salaries, on one year deals, I could live with it as long as they are very much relegated to 4th choice etc

I think Keane would probably want to leave anyway tbh.

We need 8 first 11 new starters.

This will probably happen over two summers.

So 3-5 this summer, and the same next.

Below an age of 25 with realistic resale value.

Contracts must be the going rate and not over inflated and keep a rigid wage structure
policy.

Even this will be a tough ask, which is why
we need competent people in place to enable this to happen properly.

We need to build a functional team, not a collection of individuals.

Honestly don’t know what anyone sees in Mangala, he’s bang average I reckon. Wouldn’t be looking at paying more than £10m for him, Garner has done far more than he has on his return IMO.

Thelwell works with the same list every time...so expect us going back for some old targets. Expecting a few contracts to be extended, including doucoure sadly so that we don't literally need 10 players. Perhaps one or 2 free signings. We could be starting pre season with a very small squad indeed.

Gueye and Young will get extensions, as will Keane and Doucoure if they take a wage drop.

DCL, Coleman.and one of the backup goalies.will go.

Not sure about any of the loans, depends on what Alcaraz and Lindstrom do before the end of the season.

Can see Tom Fellows ticking a lot of boxes for the role that Lindstrom is playing now.

Like the look of Tom Watson at Sunderland. Can see Moyes doing a bit of an Anautovic with him.

If we don't sign some permanent full backs, I swear to God I am going to riot. At the weekend we played a 6'3" centre half at right back and a near 40 year old right winger at left back, and that's pretty standard for us these days. No more messing about at fullback, ffs.
A loan isn’t ‘messing about’, neither is a smart free transfer.

The hypothetical situation was KWP/Lampty (both?) and based on previous rumours, Truffet on loan?

Complete made up scenario of course, but based on old links. It’s hardly a bad fix to the current full back problem. Saves money for the traditionally more expensive positions but still addresses the quality and depth issues at full back.

If they want to spend money on full back of course I’m all for it, there just seems to be some options there.

You say £150m won’t go far spread out but also want us to sign Broja who is never fit 😂
He's a young player with a lot of potential. We should be able to get a good deal due to his issues. Many players come out of such spells and then play injury free for extended periods. Of course, it depends on the medical assessments. But this is how you get bargains.

Seems very injury prone and is still a bit of an unknown quantity for scoring goals.
Would be underwhelming to start the season with him, Beto and Chermiti as our strikers.
Yeah, but I think he is one for the future. He's had rotten luck, but with the right support he could be top notch. Look at what he is capable of:

A player who’s been at as many clubs as he has at 23/24 no longer has potential, that’s just the player they are

I like how solid Broja looks, as thick and as planted as an Oak tree, reminds me a bit of Yakubu, defenders just bounce off him because his center of gravity is lower and all the power in his legs and arse just make them mere flies ricocheting off a swift back hander.

We haven't had a settled right back for years, a loan just extends that transience. We need a permanent RB at the very least. RB and striker are the positions we have neglected for years and have struggled because of it.
