If Gueye doesn't sign a contract I think it's almost guaranteed that we offer one to Doucoure and/or bring in some older players from elsewhere. There's no way Moyes will want a situation where he potentially has no outfield players on the pitch at all who you would put in the 'experienced' bracket, it's a big thing for him and always has been.

Tarkowski mate, Pickford but yeah especially in goal. But said already I think we will maybe look at bringing in one or two more veteran players, Richy on loan I feel is a very slam dunk choice.

Think Gueye will re-sign though.

Not sure if Moyes will look at any more experienced player from west ham either, he likes most managers does the d to bring one over at least (he did at united from here, he did at west ham from united)

One's nowhere near enough (for him) in a squad though, he could get injured and miss the whole season that's why I said potentially. He's always been big on having experienced players and 'characters' in the side, if we let all of Coleman, Young, Keane, Doucoure, Gueye, DCL etc go then I would expect him to bring in a couple of older heads from outside to balance it out because that's how he likes it.

I certainly think Doucoure, Keane and Gueye will be offered new contracts although I think Keane will probably move to a club where he will play every week.
Armstrong will step from the academy and I can see us bringing in about 5.

In addition I can can see us signing some young players 18 to 20 age bracket and hope to develop those

That's not what you said originally though, is it.
Yes it was. I said a loan. A loan can have buy options or obligations. Almost all loan options have some sort of buy option nowadays, that’s just normal now. Every single one we had this year had one, barring Harrison if I’m not wrong. And even then, we’ve loaned him for 2 years on the bounce.

Plus the outright suggestions for full backs were very much permanent signings.

Full back is just easier to address in the market than other areas of the pitch from a option/cost perspective.

I've re-counted and even a bare-bones side of 24 players (2/3 players for each position) would require 7 signings to have sufficient depth.
I'd expect loans to be heavily utilised again (at least 3).
If we have a budget of around £80/100m (I've no idea if that is the case) then its 4 players in the £20/25m region.

Unless Doucoure takes a big drop in wages we should go near him for another year just no value for money at 120-130k a week

Delap is not worth £50m, don't be ridiculous mate
Dibling, Saints want £55m for him and no he isn't worth that either, 2 goals he has scored and no assists.
Walker Peters is not worth it imo, even on a free, makes too many mistakes
Greaves, he seems ok but I doubt Ipswich sell him tbh

I might ask if I can move my season ticket to under the water if that's our summer business.

I don’t think Keane will get an offer, but I do think Gueye is pretty much guaranteed one. Doucoure will depend on who else we might bring in for midfield.

You didn't say loan with an obligation. That's buying a player but deferring payment for a year due to PSR workarounds. Anyway, we should sign a permanent full back. We definitely shouldn't make yet another short term move in that position.

No…that’s a loan with an obligation.

I must be missing something because apparently free transfers aren’t permanents anymore.

The obsession with it being permanent is weird, the last permanent right back we bought hasn’t cut it, so there’s absolutely no guarantee of stability if they’re a loan or a purchase - it just has to be the right player on the right deal.

I don't know what to tell you, bud, we disagree on this. Let's just enjoy the Tarkowski goal and draw a line under it.
