Any team that doesn't include Phil Neville is very unrealistic, lets be honest. He's our captain and Moyes loves him so he's definitely got a place in the team. And whilst he’s not an amazing player by any means he’s still very solid and a step up from Tony Hibbert. His distribution has come on a lot this season to be fair to him.

As for Jacobsen, he may not be the long term answer and he is a little slow but he stills looks a solid player who is very composed in possession. I’d give him a contract, if anything he offers competition and we could also use Phil Neville as a midfielder option (when needed).

I still think it’s an absolute must that we add some pace and athleticism to the side. We probably have the slowest midfield in the League and at times there’s no outlet, someone who can stretch teams and get in behind.

The midfield definitely needs at least three players adding to it, I honestly wouldn’t mind it if Moyes just concentrated there and nowhere else. It’s been our weak link for years now, if you do that then we could always use Cahill as a centre forward and not buy a striker.

You're right about that one, that's why I wrote in an ideal world.

The three midfielders I think will be Jn Ledley, Joao Moutinho and Stephane M'bia - that we'll take care of our transfer budget :)

Joe Ledley: 5 million

Joao Moutinho: 15-18 million

Stephane M'bia: 6-8 million

Might be a bit too expensive for us.:( Unless we sell someone...

Or get taken over.

Keep jacobsen, will Rodwell get more games next year? In that case neville can revert to rb where he was starting to play well before he moved to cm.

Do agree with needing a decent rw, ossie can do a job there against most prem and euro teams, but to compete/beat the top clubs we need to improve there. He's neat and tidy, and can pull the odd rabbit out of his hat (Larissa) but thats the prob, it was larrisa!

Upfront, not sure. If we play mostly 451 then yak will just come back in for jo. Saha/vaughn should be ok as back up/sometime partner as hopefully they wont both get injured if theyre not playing heavy minutes. Knowing our luck tho. Personally I wouldnt mind Benni as I thought we really missed out when we didnt pick him up last time. Then again if we really want to challenge the top 4 should we be going for something more?? Like most I think we're better off spending the main £££ (if we have any!) on RW.

Do we really want two centre mids and a left winger/centre mid when we desperately need a Right Winger?

It'll be interesting to see if Vaughan and Saha can somehow get good pre-seasons under there belt. Both have finished the season fully fit and neither will have to recover from injury which is good news.

This is a big one for James Vaughan, he really does need to catch up and develop. He’s still way behind in terms of fitness and touch which is expected. If he misses another pre-season then I can’t see a future for him here, I really can’t.

Whilst Louis can still do it half fit I’d love to see going into the season fully fit, he’d be amazing for us. I have a feeling he’s end up dropping something on his toe though and breaking it, sadly.

No but there's only David Bentley or Michael Kightly which fits the bill and could add that right-wing-flavour we need. But Bentley is too expensive and Kightly won't leave Wolves now that they're in the PL.

I would be happy with either though.

Regardless of the names bandied about, it's going to be interesting to see how quickly Moyes is allowed to move in this transfer window for his primary targets. My suspicion is that whilst the stadium decision is not in then his room to manoeuvre will be restricted to the signing of a Bosman or on the basis of getting one out the door (maybe Anichebe) and using the limited amount of cash to fund another player. It's unrealistic to think potential transfer funds wont be funneled off toward a stadium build should they get the go ahead for it. This would have been one of the reasons the club was gutted with the talk from the Inspectorate of an autumn decision.

I only care about 1 man, The One, The Only, The Mout, if we get him and dont sell anybody I will be happy, very, very happy.

But ideally would love us to sign The Mout, plus 1 top drawer winger and 3-4 fillers.

Maybe I've missed something here.
You've suggested we need cover for a right back and central defender.
Am I not correct in thinking we signed Gosling to play at right back?
And isn't Jack Rodwell actually a central defender we have currently changed into a central midfielder?
I think we have enough cover there the money needs spending on a defensive midfielder that is creative.
Some of you put Arteta as the defensive midfielder in your teams but I'm not convinced that he was the defensive midfielder. It was more a case of Phil Neville breaking up the play and giving the ball to Arteta to spray the passes about.
I may be wrong, maybe I was watching a different team to everyone else.

No, we need a first choice RB, Gosling is nowhere near good enough yet, and Rodwell is (at the moment) playing his best at DM, centre mid is definitely not top priority, we need our right flank sorted first

Most likely any player over 5M will have to be funded though sales. If Mout is the player we need the question is who do we have to sell. For example if we sell Arteta to get him at best we are going sideways.

It seems like the only option would be to put Rodwell on the market. Rodwell cause he's young and still doesn't play much. If Jags didn't get injured then we could have put Lescott on the market and resigned Yobo but that is out of the question now.

Peanut I guess is an option too. Kazan wants him and he could probably fetch 8-10M. However about 1/2 of that money would have to go to get say a Stephen Hunt. So we'd have to sell even more players.

Rodwell won't be leaving.

Wouldn't surprise me if he breaks into our first team next season. David Moyes rates him highly and he has the potential to be a big player in the Premier League.

And he's just signed a 5 year deal, it's not really realistic. We'll probably sell someone like Victor Anichebe for 3-4 million. Maybe earn 1-2 million on our young keepers, Iain Turner and John Ruddy
