The Turks are at it again using Monopoly money to try and get our players.

Not even arsed if it’s bolasie, wed atleast want a fee back on him considering he cost us almost 30m

.....it’s Wednesday and here’s what this morning’s transfer rumour columns are saying about Everton;

- According to 4th Official, Everton are set to move for 21 year old defender, Issa Diop. The 6ft 4in Centre Back plays for Ligue 1 side, Toulouse, who will be demanding £26m for the player.

- SkySports and others report Everton are considering a move for Hertha Berlin Left Back, Marvin Plattenhardt. The 26 year old is something of a free kick specialist and has been at Hertha since 2014 after joining from Nuremburg. Capped at all levels from U17, the player is in Germany’s squad for this summers World Cup in Russia.

- The Northern Echo say Everton’s top brass contacted Newcastle United over 24 year old Centre Back, Jamaal Lascalles, but we’re immediately scared off by the £30m asking price.

- Various outlets continue to link The Toffees with 21 year old Norwich playmaker, James Maddison. SportsLens website suggest Everton are leading the chase for the youngster and about to put in a bid of over £20m.

- in what they call an exclusive, TeamTalk report Everton and Liverpool are leading the race to sign Cork’s 21 year old central defender, Sean McCloughlin. McCloughlin was last season’s stand-out young player in the League of Ireland.

- SkySports claim Watford are about to sign Everton target, Adam Masina, from Bologna. The 24 year old left back impressed in Serie A last season.

- The Liverpool Echo say Kevin Mirallas is about to hold talks with Everton over his future. Mirallas is contracted to June 2020 but the 30 year old is likely to leave Goodison this summer as part of a ruthless cull by Marcel Brands.

I doubt the veracity of this simply because they have his name spelt wrong. It's McLoughlin and he is a very very good CB but I wonder if he is currently capable of making that huge step up. £200k and a sell on clause would probably get it done, loan him straight out to the championship for a season and you may may have another Coleman on your hands. There is no hype about him over here but people who understand the game know he is the only one playing here who could be capable of playing PL football in the future

would take 15m to get him out, esp after such a huge, almost career ending injury

I'm not sure if the lack of any signings is a good thing, that brands and silva are actually taking their time and getting the right people in or is a sign that we are still inept at getting people in!

I know this is paper talk, why can’t we sell players rather than loan them out, Bolasie fenerbache want him on loan.

Then Klaassen wanted by Turkish club.

Just sell and don’t deal with these clubs who have no interest in making it permanent deal
Mate.

It's been said often enough on these pages. Crap players and high wages does not equal player sales. Unless our greedy players are willing to take a cut both in wages AND football standards, but don't hold your breath on that.

The players hold the cards here, not us. We may be lucky enough to sell a few of our players who still have a value, but players like Bolasie, Williams, Mirallas, maybe Schneiderlin, Klaassen and Sandro, are all on wages well above their ability and are going to be absolute buggers to offload. Loans, with us subsidising their salaries, may end up being the only option.

It's a horrible situation I know, but it's the legacy left by Messrs Koeman and Walsh. Best get used to it.

I'm not sure how you know as he's not played that role - that is my point. I've never seen him play wing, I've not seem him crossing the ball very often, I'm not entirely sure how much pure pace he has, or how comfortable he is on the sideline. I think he's a terrific inside forward, think he can dribble, pass, and score. Lots of tricks and he got a lot stronger last year on the ball. He's quick, too, great feet. But again, I've not seen him play wing effectively.

You’ve just listed the traits that is needed to be a winger. The main reason for cutting inside is because every trick, dribble and running with the ball is with his right foot, so it’s natural that he tends to drift inside. Having a dominant right foot drifting into the byline and crossing with his weaker foot is not very effective, and I don’t think he is that confident with his left foot either.

Playing on the right wing will completely change him and the area he drift to suit his stronger foot and it will be near touch line.

You’re just reading too much into inside forward and winger mate. The key issue is his dominant right foot.

looks like we are missing out on a good CB prospect in DIOP.

the right kind of money at 22m , the right age 21 ... just what we need.

hopefully our overlord knows something about him we don't and has a much better CB lined up... please don't say smalling or jones.
