I've been impressed with Jamaal Lascelles who has been playing in what is basically a championship team this season.
He will improve further and will be a mainstay in the PL for years to come.
Wasn’t he the centre half we tried to get from forest, but got done for making an illegal approach? It’s ironic that out of all the young players we have bought within the last 4 years, it’s the one we didn’t get that could prove the most costly.
There are still decent purchases out there. Robertson (RS) and Trippier (Spurs) are two of the best full backs in the league but both cost under 10m. Bertrand, Tadic, Morrison (Norwich) would all improve us imo but sadly I think we’d have to pay top dollar to get them. Maybe that’s why we are looking to get Brands in as our DOF to tap into the European market.

Think a loan for Rashford might be possible.

Think he and martial will both be off myself mate. Cant see him happy with Rom and Sanchez first choice and I fancy Utd to bring another forward in to try beat City next season.

Him, Walcott and Tosun playing in a fluid front 3 under a tactical manager like Fonesca/Emery would be potentially exciting imo.

Buying mediocre 28 year olds is not the answer. Honestly, not sure buying ANY English defender is a good idea. Assuming we have a new D of F and eventually a new manager, we need CBs that can pass and make smart decisions with and without the ball or we will get owned by any aggressive team with a decent manager.

I think Rashford should play down the middle, don’t think he’s very consistent out wide. Yes he has pace to burn and can walk past full backs, but he just doesn’t look comfortable out wide to me.

I would hope we would utilise him like Klopp does with Salah/Mane - they are wide players but they score so much as Firmino will often interchange- I dont know if Tosun could do similiar but if he could be coached to play a similiar role I think Rashford and Walcott would both offer us alot in that 4-3-3 system.

Why would anyone who's young, good and got an ounce of intelligence sign for us with the current management team?
To make Everton attractive after the debacle of the last 12 months will take a fabulous manager as well as a fabulous PR exercise by the club.

Under the current management team at Everton, I'd agree with you. But our PL record in terms of giving youth a chance is pretty darn good. I doubt the likes of Rodwell, Vaughan and Anichebe would have been PL regulars as teenagers at other top ten clubs. Or even latterly; the likes of Calvert-Lewin and Tom Davies. And as Ross Barkley is likely to find out, the grass sometimes is not always greener.

Our Under-23 team ain't bad either, so our coaches at youth level must be doing something right.
