jelavic is a poacher , a fox in the box. he has been asked to do things that just are not in his locker.
holding up the ball and asking him to run the channels just aint gonna work and hasnt.
stick him on the shoulder of the last man , get him to run into the box infront of goal and supply him and he will bang enough goals in for us again.
personnaly i think he needs a predator alongside him to hunt in a pair. defo for example (not actually saying defo , but that class of striker)

Poachers get into positions to score every game and tuck most of them away. Jelavic has probably had less than 10 chances in the last 6 months and missed all but 2 of them. I gave up on him a while ago. A shame because I had thought we had the player we needed for a while.

Some of the baseless rubbish people come out with is incredible. Benteke is everything Jelavic isn't.

If Pereira comes in then it'll be interesting to see what he makes of the players Moyes has left him. Apparently he sticks religiously to a 4-3-3, which would suit Mirallas but probably not Jelavic. I can't see him having much time at all for Anichebe.

I think we need one striker if we continue to play the way we have, two if we start playing two up top. It will be up to the new manager. The squad needs some numbers in a few different positions, and I think this is one of them.

I'd offer a few names but seems a bit pointless until we know who the manager is.

Only one way to prove it. Get Bent, Beattie, Johnson, Yak and Saha back under the new regime and see if they fill their boots!

IMO Jelavic was ruined this season given the tactics employed by you know who.

Wins everything, proper strong, ability for the killer ball and has a cracking shot from distance.

The absolute opposite of Jelavic.

Ah I don't mean ability wise, he's more talented than Jelavic for sure, I mean the goals will dry up for him, teams will mark him up more etc etc. Happened to a few strikers lately. He's very good though.

We will all be shouting Jelavic's name again next season, i can just see it! but saying that, I would still like to see a good striker be brought in or a new Winger and play Mirallas up top.
