Please don't use this to bash Moyes, I would like to think we are a bit above that like, but there is clearly a trend, I don't buy these " running the channels " shouts people have, or playing to other people's strengths.

Does anyone have any ideas why we can't keep a striker, well... Striking?

Bearing in mind there are very few wholly consistent strikers in the PL, more expensive strikers such as Sturridge, Carroll, cisse, all go TORRES?! through very barren patches, I think I you look outside the RVP, agueros etc, we are not alone in wondering why don't have a golden striker.,

We've had a few strikers now that have started off really well throughout the Moyes era, so it does suggest that it isn't something inherent in our setup that stops them from maintaining it. If that was the case they wouldn't start well either.

It is baffling though. As you say, it's rare for any striker to maintain their strikerate on a consistent basis. Those that do are like gold dust.

The only time we've ever set up with the focal point of the team as our main attacker is when the Yak was at it big time. In the past the team have been set up for Cahill, fellaini and the like.

Not many strikers that play a genuine lone role score a lot.

To be fair Jelavic this season is solely down to him. We've created a lot of chances and he's been woeful.

Jelavic suffering the second season syndrome in my opinion.
I think he will come back better next season but I do hope we sign at least 1 more striker to help/put pressure on him.
How about trying to get Kalou from Lille? Can play up front or on the wings - a bit like Mirallas. Could keep swapping them about then so we don't become too predictable!
Just an idea anyway

we have never spent big money on a striker apart from Yak who banged them in for us,

I can deffo see Moyes spending a good £10 mil+ on one this summer very excited myself

That's a fair point about our coaches. We have too many defenders and pretty much zero attack minded coaches.
