Grand old team the fans and I know I'm going to get shot down with Stan collymore

No, I don't think so.

It has been noted on here before that Stan usually has a good word for us.

In fact, it was a talkSPORT special on Stan's programme back in August or September last year, in which @The Esk awa a caller inner, which first brought to national notice the discontent brewing at EFC under Bill and Bobby.

In all honesty, it just takes time and consistently high league finishes or trophy wins.

Look at Spurs and Liverpool. Spurs have actually finished in the top 5 in 6 of the last 7 seasons. Liverpool have managed to do it just once in the same period - yet still most of the media predictions will involve talk of a Liverpool title challenge, with Spurs battling for a European place.

If we want respect at the top table, then we are going to have to earn it. It will take a while.

The one good thing about Martinez was that he bigged us up in the media. It just goes to show that it achieved absolutely Sweet FA. The talking has to be done on the pitch. Nobody is bothered that we were finishing 5th and sixth just three or four years ago, and they are much less bothered by the fact that we won a few trophies over 30 years ago.

I think we get too drawn in, outside of the Sky favourites most clubs get overlooked, it's just the way it is now.

Listening today to Talkcack and Stuart Pearce was musing over why Koeman has gone to Everton chatting with that towering intellect, Alan Brazil. He concluded that the best we could achieve is 7/8th, behind Liverpool, MU, MCFC, Arse, Spuds, Milwall, no mention whatsoever of Leicester!

They've all doffed their caps at Leicester but consider that the universe will return to normal soon, with equilibrium restored, best to ignore them because that is the only way.

Yeah its true this, the media like the clubs that can keep the media ticking over, in terms of stars and stories but more importantly clicks and phone calls, we don't sell papers to fairweather fans who haven't got a clue.

We dont have the glory hunter fan base the media need to feed off, im not sure Man City have yet to be honest, just look at the seats they can''t fill, but they do have the players now so make up for it that way. If we can take off under Moshiri and Koeman they will soon be wanting a slice of us.

I don't get what Ray Wilkins problem with us is but lately he is always trying to put us down,He was a good player for Chelsea in the 70s but after we relegated them in 1974/75 in the final game at Stamford bridge 1-1 ( they wernt happy) he mysteriously lost his hair and was unable to pass a ball forward.
Get over it Ray you should of just got a transplant like Rooney

Phil Mcnulty BBC is fair with us.

Stuart pyke does but he's a known blue.

To be fair we are an easy win for them. You would be a poor pundit etc if you gave this club credit in the way it's been run over he past few years and the performances.

Ex-players who can't coach, commentate, hence it being the career of choice for washed-up (yes I get the irony of that choice of words) Kopites
