Dont really like him...but you can see Moyes sorting the lad out. I mean, he has been playing for Newcastle for seasons so that's bound to ruin any talant he may have.

I don't think he's as bad as people are making out, he's still fairly young for a centre back and has the right attributes. He's reminds me a bit of Yobo in that respect, it's not his ability, it's his concentration.

But I've got to admit, I wouldn't want us spending close to 8 million on a backup centre back. Maybe Moyes is looking to mould him into a right back, who knows.

Chris Hughton has claimed that Steven Taylor is not on the verge of a move to Everton, but has admitted that at Newcastle, unlike Everton, it is entirely possible that he could have left without him knowing.

“He is very much still Newcastle’s player and he is desperate to get on with things and do well for the team,” said Hughton.

“As far as I know, he is still at the club at the moment. Whether anything has happened that I don’t know about is a different matter but I’m pretty sure he’ll be playing on Wednesday.

“Him asking to leave or leaving is not something that I’m aware of. I haven’t been told by anyone that there has been a bid and I’m sure that I would be informed by someone if anything like that had happened.

"Obviously, he’s a good player and Steven has been playing well. He is obviously someone who is very important to the team.”
