Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if we did not see Pienaar again at all this season, or certainly in any form of high-level competitive game..i hope i'm wrong but I don't think we will ever see anything close to the old pienaar.
Tbf I always sided with Pienaar when the debate raged about his exit.apparently his agent has said a return to Ajax is likely to be completed soon. Him and Baines at their best were incredible to watch. it's a shame at his peak he chased the money at Spurs. the player we got back was never quite the same.
can't argue with that. certainly at that time his contribution to the team was greater than Arteta.Tbf I always sided with Pienaar when the debate raged about his exit.
All he wanted was parity with Arteta. To me, it was justified bearing in mind how important he was for us in tandem with Baines.
One of the best players we've had this century in my opinion, and he made Baines twice as good.
Sad to see him go if he does, but it's probably the right thing to do for all parties.
Them 2 together were hands down the best wing pair in the league and one of the best in Europe for yearsAgree but that's maybe harsh on Leighton. I like to think of it as quality player + quality player + near-telekinetic understanding = phwoar.
