Steven Pienaar

Even if we could find someone to take our aging crocks off us for 'free' we'd still have to pay up their contracts.
Who would take them though?
McGeady is the only one that could possibly be of interest to some one and we've not been inundated with offers for him. If we had, he'd have been off before Naismith.
Well technically if everyone agreed to move on we could mutually terminate but the cost of replacing them would undoubtedly be going in the negative direction.

Pienaar, Osman, and Hibbert are out of contract in the summer anyway. There isn't all that much money left to save from them. McGeady's a different story, obviously.

He was brilliant overlapping with Baines on the left. They seemed to know where each other was. Doubtful he will play for us again. Sadly missed but would he get a game if fully fit

How good was he at his peak? <3

Presumably you're asking about Pienaar? :) I live overseas but was at Goodison to watch the 2-0 over Chelsea when he scored after about 5-6 mins and was bright, nippy, and basically totally lit up the game. I miss his link-up play with Baines all over the left - they toally outclassed Chelsea's much vaunted midfield that day. One of my favourite memories from Moyes time as Manager.

He is such an intelligent player that if he could get himself fit, he could have a bit of an 'Indian summer' to his career. Maybe not with us, but you could see him starring in the MLS or somewhere, I don't know what the commercial value would be, I met some South Africans last year whilst skiing and they were saying he is worshipped over there as one of their best ever football exports.

I'd love to see him have a bit of a swansong at Goodison, even today, he is still one of the best ball players we have, but I just think sadly that ship has sailed

From his last fleeting appearances, I think he's finished. Falls on the floor as soon as he's touched, and seemed to have lost any semblance of speed of movement/thought.
