Think he will be good to have around as a squad player this season but I cant see him staying longer as Martinez puts his own stamp on the team.

Looks like he cant be arsed with the Thai welcome judging by the headphones and his slapped arse face.

Might have something to do with the long flight I suppose.

Love Pienaar me. Wherever he plays he knows his job and as long as he's at full fitness I think he can still perform as well as ever. He's never been overly reliant on pace, his strength is more mental pace which, if anything should improve with age. He'll do us a job for a couple years yet. God willing.

Keeping him and the older midfield players fit and fresh could play a big part in our season, its part of the reason we need a bigger squad. Even Barry's performances dropped in the second half of the season.

Not a big fan of him if i'm honest. Not that effective any more and we should be looking to replace / get rid at the end of this season.

I'd love a long term replacement for him bought this window. Ease him into the team, rotating with Pienaar this season and then next, we will see more of the signing and less of Pienaar.

Day in day out starter? Perhaps not anymore, but surely he's not done contributing to the club. Rotation will be key with Europa so why not keep him? Would happily see him and McGeady alternate from time to time.

Must be slowly eased out now i think.

He's been a 'good' servant. I'm saying that in inverted comma's because, he did the dirty and bailed on us abd went to Spurs, but he did a good job for us, and brought us some cracking link up play with Baines, that was most delightful on the eye.

However, he could get away with not being the quickest, by having a bit of flair, but sadly he's just a little too slow now, even at Tranmere, he was slow on the ball, albeit a pre-season friendly. Good player, some great goals.

I find him more of a hindrance last season, he lost us possession alot by going down far too cheaply, it was a real nuisance. He should have learnt his lesson.

Cheers lah.

He's a bit of a nob, isn't good enough to start. I'd keep him as an option from the bench, but if there was a better option available to come in and we needed his wages to make it happen i'd get rid.

Martinez likes pace out wide i think.

He's a bit of a ballbag really. And he has a habit of allowing all the defenders to get back and take up boss positions. Generally I've always been most impressed with him when he's been on loan here/when Arteta left and he was the main man. If he hasn't got anything to prove and he's not the main man he plays like he's really not arsed more often than not. Mirallas and McGeady should start on the wings in the bigger games, Pienaar in cups.
