I dont want to sound disrespectful mate, but if this is all you witness then either make sure you dont sit behind that lanky brute blocking your view at GP or alternatively try and find a better stream.

If this is all he does then what are your thoughts on previous posts in this thread?

his goal v Hull?

his performance in the Goodison Derby?

his performance away at Arsenal?

his performance away at Utd?

his performance at home v Southampton?

all the other good things he's done this season?!?

He's done good at times this season, as has osman. I'm a ST holder btw, not watching streams. He just doesn't do enough for me,

Im no osman fan either but it's interesting to see on the fantasy football Osman is right up there for us, which marks players on assists/goals and overall play.

Watch pienaar next game, he doesn't cross enough, he doesn't find the right pass enough, he's incredibly weak on the ball and throws himself to the ground constantly, half the time it works, we get a fk, half the time it doesn't and they build an attack off it.

Steven has been fantastic for us but he is getting slower and will contiue to do so hence he gets caught in possesion as much as he does now.

compare the players who've played on the wings

Pienaar - 1 goal, 1 assist, 4 key contributions
Mirallas - 4 goals, 5 assists, 6 key contributions
Osman - 2 goals, 3 assists, 8 key contributions
Deulofeu - 2 goals, 1 assist, 2 key contributions
Oviedo - 2 goals, 2 assists, 5 key contributions

no offence but youve ignored all the posts about what he does give the team and how important he is to how we play and are banging on about stats again.

we all know his final ball and shooting are poor....it is what he does in the buildup....in being available and in the right places to recieve...in being able to take possession and quickly turn a man and suddenly give us space between midfield and defence to attack. Simply look at the rest of our attack and how they receive the ball and youll see how much better he is even when he is taking the hit and going down for the fk.

As somebody said above if he wwas that level above with his end product we woukdnt have him probably. He'd still be at Dortmund. However he is getting slower and needs to be replaced by end of next season. Oh and also he is not a lazy player at all.

I dunno, i was a huge fan of him, but this season i think he stands out like a sore thumb. For me he simply doesn't do enough.

Banging on about stats which are important, even oviedo has done more in the short time he played. I think he'll 100% be on the replacement list come summer

Oviedos stats have nothing to do with what everybody is saying about Pienaar.

He and Barkley are our only players who either bypass midfield with a turn or beating a player or...are in a pace to receive a pass with great control in a good area. (Osman does this occasionally too) This then puts us running towards their box on a regular basis...meaning we control the momentum of the game and the opposition has to worry about us.

The downside is that neither of them are consistent with their end product...but that will come as Ross grows and we add to the attack. The rest of our attack lose much more possession with poor control and positioning.

Basically...when you watch him play at Goodison on Saturday....if you see him receive the ball...spin his player and set of towards the box on a regular basis then that is what he gives us....if he isnt doing that and Barkleys not there we get the subpar attacking performances weve had recently. We don't get the team to the edge of their box with space and numbers advantage without those moments of play by Pienaar and Ross.

Theres a reason the majority of the posts above are saying he is important.

Ah mate I was only having a giggle - no offence intended.

Tell you what, if he plays this Sat, ill meet you on here afterwards and we shall discuss further based on that game? I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Tell you what i'll keep a close eye on him on Sat then

Does make me wonder as football fans what we see though, everyone ****s off osman yet he is clearly bringing something to the team to a, keep getting picked and b, have the stats he does.

well... hes done well this season, so yeah i would think so.

Plus isnt retiring from International football more about prolonging "your" career in general rather than improving form?

I love Pienaar and after Kanchelskis he is the best foreign player I think we have had, but I think he will go in the summer, back to Holland is my guess with all the rumours of his family living there and him missing them
