Steven Kinsella

Love that Martinez flew over to speak with him. Can hardly imagine the others taking the time too, never mind having paid close enough attention to chat meaningfully about his development (though they may have, who knows). Would have loved to play my sport under someone that simultaneously enthusiastic and technically astute when I was 15.

Any relation to Jay Kinsella in our school? Or Phil Kinsella from SFX? What about the fella who ran Kinsella's on Rose Lane?

ROBERTO MARTINEZ has expanded his Irish brigade at Everton by persuading 15-year-old Dubliner Steven Kinsella to join the Toffees, WRITES JOHN FALLON.

Both Manchester clubs and Tottenham Hotspur also wanted to recruit the son of former League of Ireland player Alan Kinsella, but Everton won the race for his signature after Martinez flew into Dublin to meet the teenager's family.

Kinsella, who plays for Templeogue United, is a winger possessing ability and pace in abundance. Such has been his impact in underage circles, he was promoted to Ireland's U-17 squad for the UEFA qualifiers last October.

Manchester United were especially keen to recruit a player they rate of similar quality to Robbie Brady, whom they signed in 2005.

Never played for United, 2 loans spells and then sold to Hull? Doubt United would be trying too hard to get someone of that level. I would guess he's probably better since they and City both went for him.

Put him on in the derby and he better win us the game or he's useless.. Just saying.

I'll ask my neighbour's neighbour. It's only 6.30am in NZ so a bit early to knock on his door...but give me a couple of hours and all your questions shall be put to him.

Is he related to Ken Sellar who won several rugby union caps for England in 1927/28?

Do you mean Kenneth 'Monkey' Sellar (11 August 1906 – 15 May 1989) who was a member of the 1928 Five Nations Championship team which won the triple crown?
I believe he was also a celebrated commander in the Royal Navy and took part in the Battle of Walcheren Causeway and the Allied invasion of Sicily.
Don't think he was related to our Irish signing...but I've been wrong before
