No it is not.

It really is.

Both of them have said it.

Sources close to/or trusted by fans have said it.

Every signing that was brought in this summer was given the green light by both manager and DoF.

Every player that we went for and didn't get in was given the green light by both manager and DoF.

The manager and DoF come up with a list of targets. The impetus is then on the DoF to sign said players.

It's very simple.

Another remit for the DoF is to, in the long term, look at potential avenues for the club to explore recruitment wise, and open lines of dialouge with clubs.

You don’t sell your star striker to a so called top 4 rival. Period.

And to not replace him and bank on Giroud leaving his London lifestyle was silly.

I’m not going to annoy myself by typing more before work. lol

This bloke worked better under little pressure where mistakes and duff signings could be afforded - no disrespect to Leicester.

I think this guy is the one to blame more than koeman. He was brought in for the sole purpose of recruitment. We got Walsh based on two signings he made for Leicester which were mahrez and vardy. Well I knew about vardy when he was banging them in for Fleetwood and mahrez well he's decent but Walsh was hardly a magician he was just gambling on players and some done well some didn't. For us he has been very poor, gana being the only decent signing.

In the time he's been with us he has been asked to find a striker and the only one I can think that hes come up with was belfodil who is absolute garbage. Koeman said quite clearly what we need and neither were found or not enough work was put into securing these signings. It is because of the lack of striker that we are in total disarray and Walsh is the main problem here. I think he and koeman are both equally at fault because I feel even without these players koeman should be getting more out of what we have.

Leicester was an one season wonder. Added to the Sky6 slipped up that season, every single one of them. To gamble on a scout of an one season wonder club to pull it off for us is a big risk and it looks like we are paying the price now.

Laughable to lay any of the blame for this catastrophe on Walsh.

Schneiderlin, Sigurdsson, Klaassen...does anyone think, given his record at Leicester for snapping up quality low cost signings no one had heard of, that known big cash signings like therm would be down to him rather than this manager?

Not a chance.

I'll judge Walsh once this catastrophic manager is out the door...which hopefully wont be too much longer.

Finally agree with big bad Dave for once.

One one knows and in theory a DOF works above the manager in transfer dealings.

A player he worked with at Southampton, a player he stated time and time again he wanted into this club, a player he was in contact with in Holland when he was over there and a friend and close neighbour...and you think those three were down to Walsh?

Lol.

Lol.

So you have no evidence and it’s guessing then lol. Tell me what’s the point of DOF if he is not responsible for transfers?

He scouted far more than 2 players for us. Kante, Drinkwater, Vardy, Mahrez etc.

Also from what I saw in the summer most Everton fans where delighted with the players you got in. The only gripe seemed to be the lack of a striker signing . Koeman playing player out of position doesn’t help

The dynamic between him and Unsworth will be interesting if David gets the job.

If I am correct, Walsh was a PE Teacher at Unsworth's school so knows him from way back.

Walsh was talking about this on The Everton Show a while back, even made what I thought was a slight jibe about Unsworth being a big man physically. Not sure I would have appreciated that if I was in Unsworth's shoes.

Let's hope they get on though. I don't think the relationship between Walsh and Koeman looks functional or healthy but we may go to the other extreme with Walsh and Unsworth in the form of an old mates act.

There has to be a balance and mutual undertanding between both roles, with responsibilities clearly defined.

Walsh IMO also has serious questions to answer regarding his role in recruitment. Also be interesting to know, though we won't, how much he will be consulted regarding the search for a new manager.

Pretty much this entire thread is conjecture, nobody knows except those on the inside.

I heard at the match Koeman wanted Giroud or Benteke and when we got neither spat his dummy out. Note this is based on nothing but idle chat also.
