Both of them have to agree to itIt certainly 'muddies the water' as you say, if koeman or Walsh want a player and there is a disagreement over a player either has targeted. Who has the final decision then?

So if both don't agree on a said player, then do we look elsewhere? They have both got to be singing from the same hymn sheet over every deal or target. As its unlikely there is going to be agreement over every target, I can only see a rift forming between the two, especially if koeman doesn't get the players in that he wants, basically what he alluded to in his press conference yesterday. Both of them have to agree to it

Its pretty usual all over Europe.. Also disagreements wouldn't happen as often as you think as its the manager who tells Walsh what type of player he wants,. Walsh will find a list of players and they talk about which ones would be best.So if both don't agree on a said player, then do we look elsewhere? Nothing like that imoIt looks like a recipe for disaster.
Reminiscent of the "committee" v Brent era at The Pit.

This is the reason why I hate the DoF role: it just muddies the water about who is doing the damage when things go wrong. I think managers (even those who complain about it) love it on the sly because it allows them to point the finger at someone else for their own inadequacies. Walsh got it in the neck from Koeman yesterday and it served his own narrow objective to deflect away from another damaging cup exit and our season juddering to an abrupt halt.
I'm sure Koeman has told Walsh the types of players he wants. It's then Walsh job to find those players, to fit Koemans plans.
...I think that demarcation is clear. The problem appears to lie in then getting the players in.
And that's down to the board.
Yeah which is were I think the problem lies as basically that's down to Kenwright and Elstone....I think that demarcation is clear. The problem appears to lie in then getting the players in.
...perhaps specifically a board member.
...did Koeman specifically mention Walsh? If he didn't where do you get the statement 'Walsh got it in the neck from Koeman yesterday'?
