But did you have to post the 03/04 table?

Ughhhh.

Funny seeing where teams like Fulham, Charlton, & Birmingham finished in relation to us that year.

Do we really want CL though? Are we ready?

As much as i'd love to finish 4th and have a good run in the CL i think all things considered we will be better off in 5th and another shot at UEFA cup.

Then hopefully go for CL qualification next season when we are more prepared.

It comes back to not being able to last the pace against the top teams. We are getting better and can match them for many periods of the game but if we get to the group stages of CL i can easily see it being too much for the players and them going to pieces and finishing bottom of the group with nothing.

I'm probably just being way too pessimistic, but as they say, you need to walk before you can run.

If we can keep going in the UEFA and knock out some quality European sides then i'll be a bit more optimistic.

I just think another years experience in the UEFA and then CL will be the best thing overall.

There is value to what you say, i think an important point is that we probably wont be seeded for the CL should we qualify and could end up with another tie like Villareal.

That said if we get there we deserve to be there and with telvison revunue what it is in the premership (50 million reported per season) and champions leauge cash to boot,it really could be the event that sees us finaly reach a decent level finacialy as per investing in the squad and chipping away at the debt.(y)

Remember last time we hadn't played in Europe for around a decade. This time if we qualify we'd have had the games from last time, plus our succcessful campaign this season. Those should raise our UEFA ranking a bit and perhaps give us a more favourable draw.

Intertoto?

Will Everton get another point?

Villa on Fire (5-1 as I type)
Newcastle on fire (1-0 as I type)
Arsenal .. enough said

It's a bitch of a run-in. Villa really are in excellent form and brimming with self-belief. Newcastle have hit form and seem to be playing for pride. Arsenal are a bit off-form, in terms of getting results, but still playing attractive football. I can honestly see us losing each game given that we are currently soddin' useless. :(
