Stanley Park up for grabs?

Council would probably reject us building there even if we could afford it. Would be amazing though. I prefer a modernisation of Goodison though, if it would be at all possible. We'll never be winning the title in the next God knows how many years so don't need a 60k stadium. Another 10k perhaps and concentrate on upgrading business facilities and increasing number of boxes and other revenue streams, much better.

We wouldn't be allowed to build on Stanley park, they will not allow development on our side of the park (they have knocked it back once already) and to build on their side would put usto close to Analfield.

Also inclined to agree with Butters Leopold Scotch and say we need to develop coporate facilities suitable of a top premier club. I realise we arent in a particularly affluant area but we need to appeal more to those with moneys.

Soccer City anyone?? figure 8 stadium so we both have our own pitch and ground
Er…not a bad idea.

We asked for that site (where our earliest games were played even before Anfield) and got knocked back early 1990.

Now it's available, we can't afford it sadly. It's one of the few locations I could actually stomach a move away from Goodison.

we can't leave Goodison, it means I'll have to rename my sons fish tank, which is called Goldison Park, I can't see any other stadium being so easily converted, so from that rather selfish point of view....i'm out!!

Would be great to have a ground that didn't have so many restricted views.

If we could start by removing pillars we would have a very nice stadium indeed, another tier on the park end and corporate facilities and I think that's all we need to do.

Increase saleable seats, increase corporate facilities, and add another 5/7k to the capacity.

Adding another tier to the Park End isn't possible due to the structure of it.

The cost of doing that and building more boxes just for an extra 5000 capacity would be financial insanity.

Why is that? We could just knock it down and start again? The park end is only way were going to realistically get anything more out of the footprint.

That was my point. Knocking down the most modern part of the ground to re-build it when there isn't sufficient room anyway just for an extra few thousand on the capacity strikes me as madness.
