Our own players hate playing at home, says everything, about them and our fans. They are weak and we do nothing to help the team.

Goodison most weeks is one of the worst atmospheres in the Country. You have 40k in there and can hear the ball being kicked and players shouting to each other. The boring style of play doesn't help this though.

Thanks mate. I was slated on this forum for expressing this opinion a couple of seasons ago. I was never taking a pop at our match goers, was just trying to help them see the bigger picture.

A toxic environment is unproductive.

That said our match goers are far too sensitive about the negative environment they are a part of. They know they do it, and probably know it doesn't help. Yet they do it anyway.

*waits for next slating

Let's just have 90 minutes of:

"Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army! Ronald Koemans Blue And White Army!"

followed by "Boooooooooooooooooo" at the final whistle.

I think you misunderstand what some folks are hoping for.

It's got nothing to do with being happy clappers. It's about supporting the players...about creating a positive atmosphere that is helpful for the team. Lobbing abuse at players is completely counter-productive.

If you've ever played sports in front of fans you'd know you feed off the energy of the crowd.

I get pretty sick of the whole happy clappers thing to be honest. Wishing the atmosphere was a positive and productive one is not wishing the fans cheered their tits off for nothing.

I'm going to disagree... I feel this a bit over stated. I've played, granted on no where near a level of this or even close, but I've played in front of several 2,000-5,000 crowds. Plenty more in the 500-1,000 range. I enjoyed nothing more than being booed or getting trash from the trash watching. Be it home or away. Not all of us thrive on that, but some people do. And if a professional athlete, granted, it's on a much larger scale, can't get over some boo's and jeers. I frankly don't understand how they got to that level and wouldn't want them on my squad.

Home or away, booing brings a good squad together. This squad is just garbage. So yea, I guess you're right, booing achieves nothing. Never mind me. I'm fine with the boos though. These guys and this club have earned it in my opinion.

I'll say one thing that was beyond mental. The whole "YOU'RE S***" five times to Gylfi when he was taking a corner. How, on Earth, is that even not just completely shut down??

Yup, that was proper cringe. And an example of why I currently hate going to Goodison. Not bothering going today, there's better ways to spend a wet, blustery Sunday than sitting in the stands surrounded by biffs hurling abuse at the first sign of a stray pass. The atmosphere is utterly toxic at the moment, reminiscent of the final few months under El Fraudo. Will watch the drubbing and subsequent meltdown from the comfort of the sofa. NEA.

Oh wow... that is bad. I didn't catch that on TV lol.

Still don't think it should really matter much to a pro. He should have an arrogance to him and just know, that guy's trash

If you win the coin toss, the other team gets the kick off, so you are giving possession away before the game has even started. Boooooooooo

That’s not actually true though is it? I thought you got to choose either to take the kick off or which end you wanted to defend.

I predict it'll be rocking at kick off. Then after 20 minutes of watching our fat old slugs waddle around after Arsenal's midfielders and forwards, the groans of discontent will begin.

Yes the fans can do their part, but it's got to start with the players doing theirs. Low tempo, turgid boring performances is hardly going to get the fans off their seats is it? Let's have some effort and passion back from the players and we in turn might recognise that and get behind the team.
