Be interesting how much the money is - record breaking technically could be a fiver more than what Cazoo were paying us.

How long before this is announced as sleeve sponsor?

Everton have announced the biggest front-of-shirt sponsorship deal in their history after striking a multi-year agreement with Stake.com worth in excess of £10 million a year.

Stake.com, a leading casino and sports betting platform, will come on board from July 1 after Everton ended their agreement with Cazoo after two years.

The new deal represents a significant uplift on a previous agreement with SportPesa, which began in 2017 and was terminated in 2020, which was worth £9.6 million a year.

Everton’s alignment with SportPesa had previously drawn criticism from supporters, with the club’s chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale admitting that in an “ideal world” they would not have ties with a betting company.

Yet the club says the new deal with Stake.com, which sponsored Watford last season, has been driven by a necessity to compete and is a commercial decision.

It comes after Everton suspended all commercial and sponsorship activities with the Russian companies USM, Megafon and Yota in March in the wake of the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

Those companies were owned by Alisher Usmanov, who has ties with the Russian president Vladimir Putin and is a business partner of Everton’s owner, Farhad Moshiri.

Everton have also been working closely with the Premier League to meet profit and sustainability rules after posting losses of £372.6 million over the past three financial years.

Stake.com is fully licensed by the Gambling Commission and is UFC’s official betting partner in Latin America, Asia and Brazil. The former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero and rapper Drake are global ambassadors for the company, which was established in 2017.

As Everton’s main partner, the Stake.com brand will feature on front of the men’s and women’s playing shirts and the agreement will run until at least the 2024-25 season when Everton hope to be in a position to move into a new £500 million stadium at Bramley-Moore dock.

I miss Chang to be honest

I know that's a beer company of course, but I loved the logo and they genuinely seemed to like sponsoring us

Sometimes it's worth taking a bit less to get the right sponsor, but I guess beggers can't be choosers

You have to weigh up the benefits that come with a sponsorship. Really it should be a partnership between the club and the partner

With Chang is seemed like it was, with SportsPesa it didn't. Let's hope with Stake it's the former and not the latter

If anyone is offended by this they best not watch the Qatar world cup where stadiums were built using human slaves.

Fans cant want us to be financially strong / competing whilst clamouring to be a "nice" club thats finances reflect that of a Championship team.

The reality is we aint an attractive proposition to global sponsers.

Cant have your cake and eat it.
I don't think anyone has said they are offended though.

And I most certainly can want us to be financially strong AND a nice club. Doesn't mean it's going to happen, but I can want it

Well there was the trip to Africa for the Sportspesa Cup like, but take your point.

Stake already seems to have a bit of a presence in the americas, so wonder if they'll be involved in the USA pre-season tour in some way..
