After the recent debacles I decided to back us to lose and the RS to beat Man U - fully expecting Massive Gloat Monday. So at least my £2 will buy 4 pints to drown my sorrows.

Anyone working in an office I recommend you go into the cupboard and clear out all the CUPS and tell the RS there are no trophies in the cabinet in July despite putting goals past Miranda Hart and Russell Grant and winning the Massive Gloat Cup against City Reserves (obligatory lucky late penalty) and United Reserves
Have a look at the squad Utd put out
C team

Only just seen the goals for this. That 4th goal, were jagielka and Keane running in treacle or have lead in their boots, Jesus the lad made up 5 yards on the pair of them.

Although playing Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon probably doesn't help. Jags looked shagged out from the start and Keane never seems to be where he needs to be.

It all depends on what training and playing routine has been implemented. I would guess that the routine will now return to a normal in-season one and we will get a much better view of our prospects for the season against Valencia on Saturday - I hope it's a good one as I will be travelling up to Goodison Park for this one (as I do every year).

I think I will go with this explanation for now. That the lads have been working excessively hard these last 3 weeks or so and are not in optimal match condition. Doesn't seem to be much other explanations cos I don't subscribe to the "they're all crap" brigade.

It's concerning most definitely, 2 or even 3 defenders 2 midsand an attacker still needed for me. This is one of the softest sides I've seen in the royal blue and one of the least creative. Big couple of weeks now but I personally don't think we are anywhere near ready as a unit yet.
