Current Affairs Stabbing incident in Southport

Mate just face it, you've learnt something today - charged with terror offences isn't the same as a terrorist incident. You're just doubling down on your entrenched position, it's unnecessary and ill-informed.

It may well end up being declared a terrorist incident, but until it is just stop banging your drum and declaring absolutes.Just look at the facts we know, because that's all we have.

I am looking at the facts; I’m not making anything up, and the facts overwhelmingly point to a terror attack, and I don’t need permission from the CPS to come to that conclusion.

The world’s never been like that; nobody waited for the outcome of a trial to describe the arena bombings as a terrorist attack because it was obvious to everyone.

Nobody waited to describe the London Bridge stabbings as a terrorist attack as it was obvious to everyone.

Nobody waited to describe the attempt to blow up Liverpool Women’s Hospital as a terror attack despite there supposedly being ‘no discernible motive’ because it was obvious to everybody, and nobody needed the CPS to tell them what to think.

And yes, this is another case of evidence being suppressed, and the government trying their hardest to hide away from the reality.

The continued insistence that we aren’t quite sure whether he’s a terrorist or not when he’s been found with an Al-Qaeda training manual and was producing a chemical warfare agent at his address is patently ridiculous.

I do agree with a lot of your points mate, but the real head scratcher to me, is what have they got to gain from spinning it as a non terror related attack now.

Lots of the rioters and others have been jailed, the misinformation spread at the time, has been proven to be false and everything has died down as a result.

Plus Tommy Robinson is in jail now and unlikely to be pulling any strings for a yea or so as a result.

Okay, my words were slightly incorrect as I don’t believe that there is a government agency that only engages in nothing but lies.

However the question that you pose about who can be relied upon for truthful news definitely doesn’t exclude government agencies, and the idea that we can only rely on them for the truth is alarming.

Government agencies go to great lengths to suppress the truth, and this case is just one of many that demonstrates that.
I don’t disagree with your first two paragraphs but it is a dangerous step to simply believe everything is a cover up because of the occasional appalling government protected disgrace of Hillsborough for example.

Things have not died down mate. The horror on the streets of Southport happened just a few months ago.

I’m honestly not arguing that everything is a cover up, but I’m not going to wait for the CPS to tell me what to think when the suspect has been found with a terrorist training manual and a biological warfare agent at his address.

Forgive me, I didn`t mean in the sense of the horror of that day and afterwards.

I meant amongst the far right thugs that went on the rampage afterwards.

I thought that’s what you meant mate, but the far right thugs have not gone away, and feelings on this issue continue to boil.

I think i heard on the news yesterday that to be able to charge someone with a terrorist attack there has to be evidence of intent and planning … or motive, or something like that … basically the charge has to reflect the wording in law to be able to prosecute for an offence

Gerard Conlon was guilty because it was obvious.

:/

Nobody should tell anyone what to think. It is a foundation stone of democracy. What I think has happened since the advent of the internet and particularly social media, is the rise of the absolutes. All issues (from whichever side) are simple and jet black or Snow White. The myriad shades of grey in between are ignored because that would mean compromise.
In the real world compromise is what stops wars.
