Are you offended by it?So it's not a generalisation/stereotypical/sexist/racist comment aimed at all white british males? Be interesting to see the response if some of the adjectives used were 'flipped'
And if not, why does Helen Beeeeeeeee not just call him a man, or indeed a person because she might not know what he actually identifies as? Does she know he's British? He might be French, or Scandinavian? He's not been named. Aren't these 'jumping to conclusions' one of the things we don't want to happen?
I presume that she thought the person being described was the ābrick in the ballsā guy, the description of a head injury sustained during the riot, racial abuse of a fellow patient and the police recognizing him from the footage would suggest it as others on here also alluded to.So it's not a generalisation/stereotypical/sexist/racist comment aimed at all white british males? After the full stop she should have said 'this white British Male" so as to refer to him then. Not 'the white british male' which infers everyone. Seen as you brought up grammar. But I think you knew that didn't you?Because the background is his self portrayal as a defender of the faith crusader having been identified in the riots/protests against a mosque. The use of inverted commas' takes it away from a generalisation and makes it specifically about the bloke the report is talking about.
But I think you knew that didn't you?
As for his location the clues are Merseyside Police attending a domestic disturbance. A reasonable sssumption that would be in Merseyside as opposed to Oslo or Rouen.
I think conclusion wise you're actually jumping higher.
I presume that she thought the person being described was the ābrick in the ballsā guy, the description of a head injury sustained during the riot, racial abuse of a fellow patient and the police recognizing him from the footage would suggest it as others on here also alluded to.
Should she have jumped to that conclusion, probably not. However I donāt think the abuse and threats she is receiving for the comment are going to particularly help anything.
I find the far left and the far right are both guilty of the same things. Generalising, stereotyping etc. doesn't help anything. Are you offended by it?
Don't often see a far left person tearing down a mosque wall and rioting in the street whilst high on drugs and alcohol after getting a story completely wrong, happy to see otherwise like.I find the far left and the far right are both guilty of the same things. Generalising, stereotyping etc. doesn't help anything.
Dear lord, the irony.I find the far left and the far right are both guilty of the same things. Generalising, stereotyping etc. doesn't help anything.
Explain soDear lord, the irony.
'He', 'his partner', then....After the full stop she should have said 'this white British Male" so as to refer to him then. Not 'the white british male' which infers everyone. Seen as you brought up grammar. But I think you knew that didn't you?
Because you've just generalised. But, you knew that didn't you?Explain so
How do I want to see it? What do you think you know about me? I've not said anything personal about anyone on here or presumed that I do. All I questioned was that her referring to "the White British Male" in the context of what's going on.'He', 'his partner', then....
It's grammatically correct until you want to see differently.
Yes, I 'know' that.
I presume that she thought the person being described was the ābrick in the ballsā guy, the description of a head injury sustained during the riot, racial abuse of a fellow patient and the police recognizing him from the footage would suggest it as others on here also alluded to.

I can understand that individual reasoning and indeed myself take mental health breaks from social media.Get off Twitter problem solved
Yeah that's a fair point. Hold my hand up.Because you've just generalised. But, you knew that didn't you?
