Squad depth chart summer 2018

You're both obviously right. I still think it's interesting, as I think the right wing backup minutes are up for grabs the moment Bolasie leaves.

It's an option, yes, but he doesn't really have the pace to play out wide consistently - nor the physical stature.

He will probably get a chance out wide during pre-season, especially if Bolasie is off and Walcott remains injured but I'd wager that most of his time comes centrally whilst Vlasic's pace makes him the other and actual wide option.

Not a chance he ever plays centrally, he will be winger for us.

It was going so well until you said to get rid of Niasse. Turned me against everything you said.
Leave the Prince alone. He has earnt his locker.

I do actually agree with a lot of what you said. But think Niasse can still do a job and I’d rather spend the money getting a new LB and CB then trying to find another striker who will be happy to be on the bench but who is also going to score double figures (as Niasse got 9 goals so to sell him we need someone better than that to come in). As we know from trying to replace lukaku, there aren’t a lot of strikers out there. Niasse will also do a job for a season for the position we are currently in - which is transitioning from the dump Koeman and Walsh left us in.

But do you really think we keep both Vlasic, Dowell and Klaassen? I would imagine one of them going out on loan, if it's Klaassen then with an option to buy. If they all stay then it must mean that Klaassen is seen as an option for the left central role, not only a backup for Gylfi. It would also mean that Mirallas or Bolasie, or both, is off, I think.

As much as I want him to succeed, I'm leaning towards Davy being culled and the other two staying.

Great piece mate and I actually agree with about 99% of it (the 1% being Niasse, I personally wouldn't mind him sticking around for another season as an option from the bench).

Thanks mate! When it comes to Niasse, the minutes of the bench is why I still have him at the club in my last depth chart. However, I do not think he is good enough for a club of our ambition, so if we buy a new striker I think he should be the one to go. That is, based on football skills alone. Then again, he might be more content with sitting on the bench coming on as a substitute than Sandro would be, and it seems none of them will take Tosuns place in the starting line-up anyway.

If it's a pure footballing decision of who I want in my Everton team - Sandro or Niasse - it's Sandro all day for me. And if it's a question of who to keep - Niasse or DCL, who do you choose? This is if we get a new striker in. Can't see us keeping Tosun, Sandro, Niasse and DCL if we bring another one in.

I see now that I forgot to remove Niasse from my "Sell" list after I put him back in my latest depth chart. The conclusion is that he's not good enough, but could be useful if we don't bring a new striker in. So should have said (if we buy a new striker) after his name in the list, at least.

As a sub he can be effective, but I don't want him starting. I think there's an actual chance we could see some decent football this season, and his link-up and hold-up play leaves a lot to be desired. You know what you get from him in terms of determination and work rate, though.

He’s brill to bring on in a 2 very late on. Defenders are there flicking through their ‘How To: A Guide To Defending’ books like “wtf do we do here?!”
