There is a serious amount of wishful thinking in the last couple of pages lol

Think Jose will be fine, attack wise your in great shape, midfield strength in depth, think Mourinho will work on the defence, couple of your players at the back are getting long in the tooth, centre backs and a goalkeeper. He has proved an excellent defensive coach, and a winner.

You will. All of this doubt will be fuelling Mourinho who, make no mistake, is a top class manager. He’ll definitely win you a few pots, maybe not the big two, but all will quickly be forgotten

He will rub a few players up the wrong way. He’ll make an example of one or two and several will leave. I also reckon he’ll get Alli back to where he was.

he won 2 minor cups at Man Utd with possibly the biggest budget in world football. And those 2 were ragy to the extreme.

People need to move on from this 'Mourinho is a serial winner' crap

I wish we had a manager winning minor cups like the Europa League and The League Cup.

We've not touched a pot for 2 and half decades and we have fans turning their nose up at a manager who wins ' minor ' cups and has won all kinds as a manager with multiple teams.

Excellent post!

Thanks buddy. I think Mourinho is an excellent fit for Spurs currently.

To some extent Spurs are going to have to adjust the model they've worked too. This was always going to be the difficulty of the tight fiscal policy that they ran. It was fine when the players were younger, but as soon as they got to an age where they hit their peak, they either had to radically overhaul it, or risk losing assets for too little money.

The catch is, that I'm not sure Pochettino massively wanted that or that the players necessarily wanted to commit to him. He's been great for them and their career to date but football is a ruthless business.

Mourinho changes that. He will hold far greater weight with Levy in terms of how the club is run. He holds a lot more weight in terms of the players telling them what they can and can't win.

This Tottenham team, in a lot of ways is similar to the Chelsea one he inherited in 2004. A talented team but nearly men. He one great skill is taking talented teams and getting them over the line to win trophies.

I'm sure Levy is looking at the increases in wages due to many of the players and probably thinking, it's cheaper, particularly in the short term, to renew the contracts than having to start again.

I think its probably the worst appointment Spurs could have made myself.

Spurs will wilt in my honest opinion and Jose will undermine a lot of the good gone on there and be on his bike again.

Still in genuine shock this has happened.

There's no inbetween here, it either ends up being very successful or a complete disaster.

At least Levy shows the supporters he wants to improve and win things.

Man United were a mess when he took over, and they still are. Their problems run far deeper than just the manager. In any case, he finished 2nd, won the Europa League and the League Cup and got them back in the Champions League.

Mourinho is one of the most successful managers of all time.

It's all relative though, right? Do United supports think of Jose as a success b/c he won those Cups?

We would certainly b/c of how far we've fallen.

All about perspective.

I don't think that, relative to expectations, anyone can really argue that Jose was a success at United

SSN wetting themselves over this, a Mourinho ‘special’ tonight and their reporter saying there will be money in January but nothing like what he’s used to. I thought he said he needed another £300m to sort Man Utd out? lol

agree with this, but Spurs really need a top class keeper, I just don’t rate Lloris, especially after that shambolic effort at the Pit last year.
