What a disgrace Danny Rose is.

Pretty despicable behaviour. They have a contract to protect themselves if the club try to mess them around. By loads of players saying that they want to leave but wont leave until they have run down their contracts to get massive wages/signing bonus (a la Ramsey), then the clubs are going to have to counter that somehow. All the calculations of having sell on fees to offset wages will have to be removed and the players will suffer with shorter term/ lower wage contracts.*

If a player breaks his leg he could find himself not being paid in this scenario because of the greed of these people.

*of course there will be star players that the clubs will break the bank for but same applies for the taking into effect the sell on value if more often than not players are happy just to see out their contracts and move on a free.

They are treating him like a slave to be fair, I hear rumours he has to go into work 5/6 times a week for mostly a few hours at a time. Obviously the standard of football has been dire while he has been there meaning he only got to the CL final once! Not to mention the absolute dump of a stadium they use. They also only pay him £3.1 million a year - in this day and age. Can you believe that? I'm sure you would hate your employer for giving you such a pittance - in fact I'm going to put a post on Rose's behalf in the skint thread. :hayee:

Unfortunately it is easier to sack the manager rather than offload the poison in the dressing room.

If we can't beat a woeful WHU at the weekend, the writing is on the wall.

He will walk into a better job within a few weeks anyway so it probably suits him to get his £12.5mn pay off first.

Shame though.

Difference between Spurs and Everton, as if it wasn't already apparent. We have a no-mark manager who got his previous side relegated, who has struggled embarrassingly for 18 months, yet is given free passes even when teams such as Sheffield United humble us at home.

Under no pressure whatsoever. But Poch, he shouldn't be sacked though, not in a million years.

He needs to be given the chance to get the players out who want out and then funds to rebuild. Sell Kane in the summer to free up 100m, get rid of that bad apple Alli, find a quality replacement for Lloris and bid adeau to Alderweireld, Rose, Eriksen and Vertonghen. Will be difficult to improve the squad when you lose 3 key players for absolutely no fee.

Can't be easy when you have multiple key players winding down their contracts to get big-money moves in 6 months.

It's time for Spurs to re-assess and re-evaluate their long-term goals. That will mean Europa League football at best next season, but the writing was on the wall when no money was made available for 2 years while the stadium was being built.

Agree with pretty much all of that.

I wouldn't sack him but it is the 'quick' fix for Levy. Otherwise (in his mind) it will be another 18 months before we are competitive again.

Thanks brother. Got quite a few Spurs fans so have a soft spot for your team. I want Spurs to do well and I think the best way to achieve that is to stick with Poch and allow him a re-build. Hopefully Levy will think the same! That said, maybe Poch has his sights set on a new challenge and doesn't fancy another five-year job at Spurs. Could be very likely and wouldn't blame him!

Agree. I think he has his sights set elsewhere. His press conferences are getting more and more bizarre. I think he wants out but unusually for a mananger these days, feels some sort of loyalty towards the Club, Levy & the fans.

I think he is torn between doing want he wants and doing what he thinks is the right thing.
