They're streets ahead of us, but we really were our own worst enemy today. First goal I'm blaming Gana and Barry, second Joel and third we just went to sleep (again). However, Spurs are a template for us, I think they're such a good side and it showed today.

Really disappointed with our centre halfs, lost any faith I had in Mori and expected far more from Williams.

Barkley was my man of the match, he was excellent, wasn't he?
Send me your thoughts on the game and I'll include as many as I can in the video.

Barkley was excellent when he got on the ball but Spurs did well to starve him of the ball for large parts of the game. We never had an outlet in the first half especially so the ball kept coming back at us. Williams and Mori couldn't cope today but some of the blame must lay with the defensive midfielders getting dragged all over the place. Thought when McCarthy came on we looked better and he was back to his terrier best. Time now rest Barry for the rest of the season. I keep harking on about it but Baines is my main worry now. Prime target in the air and he is very slow in his thinking and awareness.

Well I predicted a Spurs win by the odd goal so got that bit right least.

Should have been more but a win is a win.

The three season wonder got lucky again.

He was bullied off the ball most of the game, dreadful passing etc etc. Can't expect him to be great in every game, but today he was terrible.

Wasn't as bad as Barry in my opinion also thought Gueye was ok considering he was on a yellow card the problem was playing four DM's as they got in each others way the majority of the time.

my current Pes 2017 Everton team: Leno, Coleman, Rugani, Keane, Baines, Schneiderlin, Gana, Davies, Barkley, Lukaku, Lacazette.

A frivolous post maybe.

But the point is unless we spend big money, all at once (unlikely) like on a silly video game, we cant be expecting to be going to places like spurs and turning them over on a regular basis.

What i would expect though is the manager, utilises his exisiting resources i.e. selection and tactics. Ronald got it wrong big time today. Still two win able home games coming up should take the edge off.......

How are you getting on with that team mate? Wouldn't mind a bit more insight on this.

Koeman starting with Barry was bizarre, and we were outplayed by a much better team. But we came back in to it to an extent and only lost by one goal. I'm strangely positive after this defeat because I still very much trust Koeman and think we'll be much better next season IF we have a good transfer window.

I don't think it was bizarre it just didn't go to plan so hind sight is in action there. Saying that I don't think we will see too much of Barry for the rest of the season now that McCarthy is back. McCarthy impressed me with his cameo.

That was simply dreadful. I left with 10 to go and have jus got back to Marylebone and was stunned to see the final score! I couldn't see us scoring, let alone twice.

We were outplayed and outclassed all over the park. Only Barkley came away with any credit for my money. I still think we're miles off in terms of the top 6.

How Koeman allowed Barry to stay on the pitch - let alone start - for so long is baffling. And then there's Funes Mori.....dear God he is woeful in possession. Spurs sussed is out after 10-15 so allowed him to be the only outlet option when Robles or the back line had the ball. Once he got it, he inevitably looked long and missed by a country mile.

I think Baines has gone. We desperately need a CB, CF, GK and LB. probably a better RB, too. If we don't upgrade in those positions we'll never move on and we risk losing the quality in the areas where we do have it.

Such a blow that, today. A genuine test after a decent run of form and results, and one that showed us up yet again,

Or it could just be that I'm an unlucky omen....

Take nothing away front spurs, they were brilliant and deserved to win. Scoreline flattered us a bit. No shame losing to them. It's a bit of a Martinez flashback with 3 goals that were all preventable but that's what happens when you come up against someone like Kane. Barry shouldn't have started the game & certainly shouldn't have made it as far as the second half. I think our selection and tactics played into their hands personally. It was a bit of a reality check if we thought top 4 was within our reach. We getting better but we a still a long way off that. 7th is a pretty fair reflection of us right now.
I'd be frustrated if I was a Spurs fan because today they were brilliant. They offered us no respect and knew they were the better side. They weren't concerned with Rom or Ross... they didn't adjust there game to deal with our big players. They just did their thing and dominated 80 minutes and didn't do much wrong - even Rom's goal came from a slip.
Against the RS they weren't arrogant, they graced them with far too much respect and basically changed their whole game plan to deal with Liverpools dangerous players. If they treated Liverpool or any of the top 6 with the same attitude they treated us today with they'd be far closer to Chelsea than they are because they're good enough.
Anyway that's enough of my Spurs love-in.
Bring on West Brom and let's get back to winning.

We looked leggy and second best until Barry went off. Our shape was poor and we got opened up too much. Should have played Mirallas from the start as he loves to play against Spurs.
