Match Thread Spurs V Everton - 24th May 4pm

In like Idrissa been a great servant but i think it would be a shame to drop Tim and again going out more on the back foot on a game that means sod all to us will he be looking at not getting a hiding, 10 behind the ball ?
It'll be the usual Moyes gameplan and it may well work but the problem remains its not a gameplan that we should be taking forward hence the need for a new manager and new ideas

Agreed that's why i haven't renewed this year Sunderland confirmed it for me a game we had to win and hope the stars aligned for Europe but same crap again , no game plan them having 69% possession first half it was rinse and repeat for nearly all the home games .

Percentage football is limited in its nature, somedays the margins will go in your favour and others it won't. As a long-term strategy its unsustainable

Im not into this pass and pass get nowhere style of play but Sunderland were trying to move it forward with players i guess not many really new but they all looked coached and comfortable and with a bit of pace it was just that for most we just sat back and watched them do it no urgency at home on the last game of the season but we have been saying this most weeks on the forum and he just looks like he has no plan B Plan A's a bit of a mystery

Exactly right, our fan base would love a high press and high intensity style of football as it would be something we'd all get behind with gusto. Instead we have a cautious and respecting the opposition far too much manager who is so focused on defensive shape and having 2 centre backs with zero pace that when we do get the ball the gaps are far too big between defence and offence that we end up playing aimless 'compete for' balls reminiscent of lower league grock football. Couple with the fact Moyes teams never have pace in them we can't even counter attack effectively and we very much rely on a bit of individual quality or a bounce of the ball in our favour. I have no idea how any match going fan can watch us and be happy with this as the direction to go forward in
