I've always rated vellios but if he's not gonna play might aswell sell him then think why did we do that lol. Aslong as the back four are on game I see us winning this like aslong as nais ain't our impact sub

Yeah, because he was really crap as an impact sub against Villa.

Apart from the loss of points, there was nothing negative about Sunderland at home. We were outstanding and could leave with our heads held high; stupidity and bad luck cost us.

There is no one point to pinpoint, the quality of the performances just dipped and we gave a calamitous account of ourselves at Anfield. Villa proved to me we're back on track and with people returning from injury I'm very confident we can keep the ball rolling with a win at Spurs.

4th is still in reach. Brendan is a bottler.

Feeling confident, but supporting Everton not sure that's a good thing. Was confident for the derby and look what happened...

Who would start Dele?

Tough one, class player but with little match fitness - look what happened with Pienaar in the derby...

Remember it well.

I think it was Sharpie who scored the goal.

(or was it Wayne Clark?)

Although I don't see tha "symmetry" as I for one will be shocked if the RS beat Arsenal on Saturday and back then we were better than Arsenal and Highbury was a mid 80s happy hunting ground for us.

You’re right, it was Wayne Clarke. Personally, I wouldn’t be amazed if the RS beat Arsenal and I wouldn’t be amazed if we lost at Spurs. If we could come out of the weekend still 2 points behind then I guess most of us would be happy. However, I’m hoping for more.

I mean symmetry in that we are away in London and the RS are at home to a London team with the smart money on Liverpool doing better than us. That’s probably true of most weekends when they are home and we are away (and vice versa). I concede that the strength of the London team going to Anfield is greater this time. That said, Wimbledon did finish 6th. However, I am somewhat bemused by your talk of ‘a happy hunting ground’. We lost there during our 84/85 title winning season. Yes, we won during the 85/86 season but that was the only win there in the 80s apart from 86/87. Given that we lost the home game in the 86/87 season and that Arsenal finished 4th I really don’t think (and certainly can’t remember) us going there expecting to collect the usual 3 points from our ‘happy hunting ground’.

Are you kidding?

I said the "mid 80s" and during our great period Highbury was indeed a "happy hunting ground".

And there was no more happier day than when we went to Highbury in 1984 and beat Saints in the Cup semi final to make the F.A. Cup Final for the first time in almost two decades.

No sir....travelling Evertonians have very fond memories of Highbury in that era.
