FOOTBALL power-broker Chris Nathaniel held talks with chairman Bill Kenwright on Saturday about a takeover of Everton.

Nathaniel, who has clients from Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Nigeria, said:
“There are many people from overseas interested in purchasing Premier League teams.”

Isnt this the guy who was head of the Nigerian takeover attempt of the Geordies?

It could be true, they wanted to make Yakubu there number one target... why do that when they could just buy the club that owns Yakubu and has a much better playing squad then Newcastle's?

I'm pretty sure that is, Neiler.

Ah come on Dave im sure we could figure out an angle to blame Kenwright for at least part of this report!

My position is that there'll be no sale of the club this side of the public inquiry decision. Kenwright is Tesco's hostage in that respect. But making a statement at the EGM that he's hired someone to sell the club was disengenuous to say the least.

All 'Everton to be sold' stories should be laughed down immediately, in my humble opinion. (y)

He is a bad bad man!

I agree with the opening sentence mate! I thought you were in the "we could attract investment staying at goodison camp though"!

Bill's not a bad, bad man - he does a hell-of-a-lot for charidee and helps out his good friend Barrymore - he's just a bad, bad chairman.

As for investment at Goodison: possibly not, though all the statements from Wyness, and now Elstone, with regard to the 'impossibility' of attracting enablers and securing naming rights dont sound too convincing to me...more a case of rubbishing every other avenue that doesn't end up in Kirkby.
