I have no time for role models, for me they are much like celebrities; a meaningless construct of the tabloid purveyors of gossip, rumours and lies who seek to justify their existence by calling themselves newspapers, but Speedo Mick embodies something that is to be admired in people. I don't care if he is making a living out of this charitable acts, he has to be able to sustain himself and his family. How do the people who are now seeking to demean him think he lives. He is not one of these millionaire singer/actor types who preform acts of self publicity for children in need etc. and then head off to the palace for their gong.
I feel that people having a pop at him is an indicator for British society today, there is a man out performing acts of charity at a cost to himself and the rest of us who don't have the resolve to do the same have to find fault in him. It makes us feel better about ourselves, we don't want to aspire, we want to destroy aspiration.
