Iwobi is likely to replace Richarlison.

The big question for me is do we also bring Sigurdsson in to the side ahead of Gomes, to try and help replace Richarlison's goal threat.

Or do we keep as settled a side as possible considering we will have to make a couple of changes already.

I think Gomes gets dropped next week for Sigurdsson.

Against Liverpool Gomes suffered because their pressing game gave him no time to do his stuff. He isn’t that good that he can operate in highly pressurised positions. Southampton aren’t going to put us under anywhere near as much pressure as Liverpool, I feel Gomesis good for this game. Siggy has shown that he will hide against any opposition and has done so for two years. If Gomes is to be replaced I would go for Gordon.

Southampton are a very good pressing team. They run and run and run under Hassenhutl. This will be a really tough game. Undoubtedly we have the quality but we'll really have to be at it to get a result.

Soton
Newcastle
Man United
Fulham
Leeds
Burnley
Chelsea

All pretty much winnable if everyone's fit. United and Chelsea are in shambles defensively + they'll be playing a lot of games in Europe

Nobody knows Southampton like us. We never tire of winning.

I remember Unsy taking us down there to a Southampton side who couldn't score and were losing every game. We soon cured that, the side Unsy put out produced one of our worst performances in years, we got absolutely battered and looked in freefall.

Moshiri and the directors were so alarmed they panicked and first approached Allardyce, it was truly desperate.

We know Southampton alright
