Siggardson had good games against West Ham and Brighton in his previous 2 starts, thats why i think he gets the nod. I'm happy with the team selection aswell as the bench.

Can see why Gomes has been dropped, was awful last week and couldn’t handle the pressing Liverpool’s midfielders were implementing. Saints play a similar style as we seen at Goodison last season, game would just pass him by today. Actually feel Sigurdsson has done a lot more defensively this season for us when played than Gomes has.

And gylfi has a goal threat and is probably due one

Gomes is a tough one he either completely bosses the game or is totally anonymous and you can tell within the first 5 minutes which it's going to be..

Pleasantly surprised to see Gomes dropped. Personally thought Ancelotti would’ve kept him seeing as he has generally played his first choice 11 and only changed if there’s an injury in the league games. Be interesting to see how Siggurdsson does for a full game seeing as he’s come on as a sub for the most part and has on the whole shown an improvement on last season, but obviously different when it comes to starting a game vs coming as a sub.
