If you could dig up any small complaint so far this season it would be that we've not kept enough clean sheets, this surely needs to be the start of one if were to get a win here. Southampton like to attack which might play into our hands though.

All eyes on gomes for me, needs a big performance.

Gomes needs a bounce back after Saturday’s performance, which I expect that he will. Whole squad should be ready to go granted training goes fine with no surprises. Any updates on Seamus ? I expect we will see Godfrey, lots of hope with him, I know it was probably tough to be thrown into the middle of it all, especially with it being a derby, paid good money for him though and Carlo knows. I’m excited for this one and I think we handle them easy. I’ll say 3-1 Everton. UTFT!

Pickford
Kenny Mina Keane Digne
Doucoure Allan Gomes
James DCL Gordon

Kenny is assuming Coleman is out and he's fit, if not then Godfrey again.

Gomes could easily go based on the Liverpool game but willing to give him another shot.

Carlo will almost certainly go with Iwobi over Gordon but would love to see him get the nod.

In fact maybe we could play Iwobi or James Deeper in place of Gomes with Gordon on the left, but again why alter an unbeaten formula.

I'd expect Siggy to start ahead of Gomes

Tbf gomes won't be hassled as much against saints as he was against the intergalactic champions

Easier said than done - him and Newcastles Wilson are top quality and will be testing our backline all game.

Two tough away games these.

Think in both games we need to score early and sit deep and hit them on the counter like against Brighton in the 2nd half.

am new around, but this kind of thinking got you last season to what? 12? big teams move away from the sooo called paced fast game into possesion /ball control football. why? cuz big teams instill FEAR into the oposition and force em to sit back with the option to make a high presure game ( wich demands high stamina and is nearly imposible to sustain the whole 90 mins).

ancellotis teams are never reactive teams, they are controll and active teams, lets hope everton keep evolving into that behemoth that forces into sumission their oposition and not the kind that hangs over the goal like bats and pray for a sucessful counter.
