Because he says that, while his English is good, he might say something wrong (slip up, etc), or say things in an offensive way without noticing, and he can also get his point across easier without having to think about translating it into English in his head.

Tough game today; Saints press you and strangle the energy you have in midfield. Lambert and this Gallagher kid will try and ruffle the feathers of Stones and Alcaraz; will be interesting to see how they cope up against big lads. Lallana will drift in and out frequently, so it's important Coleman/baines aren't dragged away and a vacant space is left for Shaw and Clyne. Wingers will have to track back today and prevent the overlap, which is pretty much what they'll have to do with our fullbacks.
Lukaku will have to improve on his touch today; losing possession against these is criminal.
