it said on the telly, [first half] what me notice
was we were actually moving the ball around in their half
alot more than usual instead of keeping it at the back,
it was refreshing was abit boring 2-0 up for
a while but i guess that's taking the steam of things
[and who cares if up 2-0] right thing to do boss game,
there was some great play like, them counters an build up to barkleys goal.. buzzin
2/10...

Doesn't even rhyme..

Just watched the full game again. Apart from the 10 mins at the beginning and just shortly after half time I thought we controlled the game. 3 great finishes from rom and Ross. Was a little worried before the game as there was no natural width on the pitch but this helped Coleman and Galloway when we needed to defend.

That being said I thought we played a lot of clumsy football through the game, if we wanna be a passing team then we need to learn to pass.

Kone.

A terrific win, an overall very good team performance, some excellent defending, good goalkeeping, quality finishing... and all after some aerial fuming. Hellfire, if we learn to pass, the media would simply have to say something positive about us.

Played this one to perfection but we know we can do this. some great ability in this team running with the ball when teams are stretched. But this is why ordinary teams sit back against us at home. anything that stops teams thinking there is a simple way to play us at Goodison could make this a good season.

The Martinez approach relies on confidence, when it works it works.
I don't think it's tactics or formation.
It's not taking the extra touch or passing the ball ahead of your team-mates into their path that makes the difference.

Which is why we need a playmaker

We need to perform much better at GP this season. Get the home results and a few more away wins will follow ;)
Still cautious lads as this is just one game.

It was huge win for so many reasons and will give the players confidence for a very difficult fixture list coming up. Crucially the fans needed confidence as it was a dull pre season and horrible first game.

Everyone is reminded of how Everton can play again. And when we do play like that there's not many teams that can live with us as we're very dangerous.

The good thing was to see something different and I don't think it is the last we will see of the diamond and two up front. It's also a system that may work against our Achilles which is teams that sit deep against us.

No Mirallas, Deulofeu, Pienaar and Baines yesterday too.

Lots of good performances but Lukaku was fantastic. That's the difference a true top flight striker will make. He will be the one we miss the most when he eventually goes.

But for some time yet we should enjoy him.

Azul vaulting everyone because he's chuffed he got his prediction on the formation spot on. LOL

How often have you known me to get something right? Exactly. It needs celebrating!
