Neville's comments on the sky sports website don't fill me with any great confidence. Talking about the grass isn't always greener on the other side etc. etc. He didn't look at all confident about either of them staying or it could just be a clever ploy by the club captain, to reiterate if you stay with us and the squad we have we can go places as a club, whereby he is putting pressure on the players to sign new contracts. The question however needs to be asked how much longer can we give these players to make up their minds, as we don't want to be losing either of them late in the transfer window with little time to find a suitable replacement.

That Neville interview for me is a good sign and perfectly orchestrated in accordance with Mikels recent 'to do list'

Nev as the club captain whist not as close to Mikel as Timmy C will I am sure know something of the situation.

If positive news would be nice to get some news going into the weekend -if not what we like to hear saved until a later date would be my educated guess.

i'm hoping that Arteta will stay, unless a bid from a big spanish club comes in (not Sevilla).

as for pienaar, we should offer him one last chance to sign and if he doesn't ship him out. Better to get 6 or 7 millon for him now than see him walk after a year of disinterested football.

I'm sick of the little [Poor language removed] to be honest. He had a difficult time at some clubs and now he's found a home, he's trying to stick us for all the money he can. Shamelessly disloyal. We should get rid, now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Pienaar hasn't said anything. It's his agent who seems to be flogging him like a cheap prostitute.

I think now they're both back at Traning this week, Pieman posted a twitpic of Saha last night, btw on Twitter ( mates, nice happy?) - i would think unlike Mascharano at them lot, neither have put in a request to leave, or made any noises.

But bearing in mind.. it tends to get silly the closer to the end of the wiodow.

Why is Pienaar's situation any different to Arteta's?

They both had problems at there previous clubs, they've both been very good players for us and there are rumours (yes, rumours) that they want out or are weighing up there options. Why isn't Arteta a little, disloyal [Poor language removed]? What's the difference?

There is no difference. Neither of them are little, disloyal shits.

Well neither of them are disloyal shits. They're both little :P

All I am worried about is that we don't have another situation like last season when we only have a limited time to sign replacements, if we get the dreaded news that they won't sign new contracts and want out. Of course I am not suggesting for one minute either Piennar or Arteta would do a Lescott on us and put in a transfer request on the eve of the season, they are too professional for that and have respect for the club and its fans. But I will bow to your superior knowledge and hope by next week like all our support that the situation will be clarified.

Sky Sports News , or whomever , have to fill their agendas . Moreover , as the lads have said , NEITHER are out of order , as we speak today .

These issues will be resolved - either way in the next week or so , I would imagine .

Let's chill until then , eh ???

Here here mate.... Also my theory is 'if they go they go' we can't really do anything about it. If its the case you would hope that it would be done sooner rather than later but what will be will be !!

My sauce has told me we're signing Raul on a free, It was written on a bottle of heinz which I've heard is a very reliable sauce, so we'll see eh lads
