Bringing back Moyes would be the ultimate confirmation that we have accepted our lot in terms of progression and ambition and are happy to ride off into the sunset as the perennial losers that we've become.

Say what you will about Koeman but pinching him from a team that had finished above us two seasons on the spin was a sign of ambition. Bringing back Moyes off the scrap heap (he has now failed at three jobs on the spin) would probably be the end of us.
