So, this Syria thing...

This goes on all over the world mate, without even being videod y'know.

You're quite right, Bryan. There are lots of unstable countries that in which horrible factions just need to do one:

Ivory Coast
CAF
Zimbabwe
Somalia

Which only stresses why so much attention has been brought upon Syria, as always there's a western agenda.

They are all as bad as each other.

Keep out of it, let them get on with it.

Let the Arabs sort out their on sh1t (Arab League?)

Lets worry about our own borders.

Ron Paul warned about this last year, way ahead of the curve (as usual):

Just stay out of it - save your money.
The rebels are just as bad or worse than the government (would you rather communists or jihadists?).

2013 and you see there are still loads of uncivilzed things happening around the world. Ordiniary people tend to suffer from the worst of crime that was caused by some mad tyrant.

The big trouble with letting this sort of thing carry on is that eventually it spills over outside their own borders, already happening with refugees.

On the question of intervention the answer has to be a big fat no, unless you go in and deal with all sides in the conflict in the interests of human rights. Taking sides will result in the other side and their allys having a backlash against you.

As others have said it's not just the Middle East, it's huge parts of South America, the Pacific Islands, and large parts of Eastern Europe and the ex Russian states.

The big draw to the Middle East are the vast reserves of fossil fuels, so maybe the answer is to really push for non fossil fuel technologies removing the interest in the region?

....happy with any workaround that avoids military action, but if there is evidence of chemical weapon use the culprit should be brought to justice. If individuals do something wrong they are taken to court, why is it not the same for heads of state. If he says it wasn't him let an international court decide. Surely thats how things should work rather than meeting out military justice.
