the UK's hand in these type of affairs goes back years mate

not just the relatively recent wars in Iraq, but the formation of the U.A.E., the Israel/Palestine issue ...all the way back to the so called "crusades"

...should we be there ???

short answer NO, we cant solve the problems it just makes yet more in the long run, don't see the likes of Holland , Norway ect getting into this sort of stuff, just sit on the side-lines say isn't terrible, and let them get on with it, not worth a penny of British money or a drop of British blood let the middle east sort itself out, we would be getting into a **** storm we cant get out of, Russia , turkey. iran all have fingers in that pie, and history teaches us we end up the enemy no matter who wins

I'm not slighting the USA in any way, a lot of European countries (like the UK, France etc) who bandy together in these coalitions are probably breaking UN laws if they invade, yet for some reason it's ok. These things just never end well.
