Unsworth would relegate us.

Then changes were forced by the fans screaming for them on Sunday. Also, had he of actually started wingers and dropped his mate Rooney, we would never have have been in that position.

Agreed but one difference.....they were winners as players
Unsworth was quite awful as a player and certainly wasn’t a winner

I suggest you look at the line up at Wembley in 1995.

And as far as I know, Harry won nowt as a player :(

We have a transfer window approaching and, I believe, money to spend. So one factor to consider is the degree to which transfer targets might be encouraged to sign, or put off from signing, due to the identity of our manager. Can Unsworth attract big name targets? Realistically no. But then again, could Dyche? Or Allardyce? Probably not. So which of them is least likely to put off a potential signing?

It's not the only factor, but it needs considering. And the same consideration needs to be given to any other potential candidate.

If you feel unsworth is a legend as the poster I was responding to does then so be it
At best average as a player and painfully out of his depth a a manager

BASED ON 3 GAMES OR THE GAMES WHERE HE WON THE B PREMIER LEAGUE AGAINST THE SQUAD RICHES OF CITY AND CHELSEA?

You said that he was not a “winner” as a player.

I merely pointed out to you that he was a member of our 1995 Cup winning team.....ergo he was a “winner”.

You also said that three other ex Everton players whom won trophies with us as managers were also “winners” as players.

Harry Catterick, to the best of my knowledge, never won anything as a player.

Did I say Unsie was a “legend”.

No sir, I did not.

But Harry C managed Sheffield Wednesday out of the second division and came 2nd behind Spurs before we stole him.......

He was a woeful player for us mainly a reserve as a player great players seldom make great managers - Alan Ball was an example of that - to say Unsworth was a crap player is inmaterial as the first poster classes Unsy as a rubbish player
@miff

I love Unsworth and I’d love to see him be developed into a great manager, but our owner wants to be competing at the top and he will need an experienced manager who can do so. Unsy is not the man at the moment, I prefer him to Allardyce or Dyche, but I believe Moshiri wants the best he can get. If he appoints Allardyce then we can forget any pretentions about joining the top clubs.....
