Does any gas fitter know why SEE send out an Electrician to put a Smart meter on a gas meter & even after he refused to fit a smart meter on the gas after fitting on the Electric meter- he threatened to cut the gas off - I got rid of him with the meter remaining on.

I got an inspector out by United Utilities gas department as he stated there was a kink in the gas pipe the day after they did a report stated even though the property was lead piped it was still feasible to fit a Smart meter as they passed the gas meter perfectly safe - The same guy from SSE turned this am at my mother in laws just around the corner & refused to look at the report given by United Utility emergency Gas saying the |gas meter & appliances were all safe - ,

My wife got agitated by him, & told him in that case remove the electric smart meter - he threatened to call the police so my wife told him to just do that, as he was bull crapping her etc etc -
We are going to e mail the reports in to SSE ...
Any reason why he should overrule a no 1 Gas safety organisation - my point is to any registered gas fitters on the GOT - he claimed lead piping was outlawed this is not the case - He claimed there was a kink in the lead pipe this is not the case - in fact United Utilities tested the meter & stated it was perfect for fitting a smart meter -

SSE is a faceless offshore company based in Malaysia - I left them last year over billing - trying to cut the Gas meter off by just taking photos of the meter - overruled by Gas United Utilities on my wive's mother is 88 years old suffering with bad dementia...

A serious complaint will be going in via e-mail tonight -

I myself have been sceptical over smart meters in my property & this just makes me feel I made the correct decision - the idea of getting one fitted for my Mother in ;law was It's so hard to read the meters ..... plus it would be more convenient in the long run - SSE have just caused trouble ..... utter rubbish of a firm imo ....

I've completely refused to have one fitted. They are shocked when I say no. Smart meters are a complete con.. I told the supplier not to call about them again or I will leave.

On a more serious note, we are currently under pressure to get one fitted as part of our British Gas fixed deal. We’ve ignored their letters so far. My issue though, as others have said, is: will it still work if we change supplier? If not, it’s a waste of time surely?

Just tried that with the uncertain market they have seen no problem in taking over the account , or the smart metres if SSE are being awkward but with being a new customer she would have to pay higher tariffs than normal ......

Faceless company our written comlaint by post to perth is doing the rounds two faced Barstewards & My wife sent it so the English was perfect ....before you snipe ....

I couldn’t decipher the OP very well, but, drawing my own conclusions here, the lad wanted to fit a smart meter in your house and you scared him off by showing him your glory hole? Think I’m close.

There’s always room for another interpreter for @Joey66 posts mate, if you fancy a job ?

He assured us all a few weeks ago, that all of his posts from now on would be clear and legible, as he’d purchased a new iPad.

What he didn’t mention, was that he’d got the IPad off some Eastern European fella outside the big fruit and veg place, at the top end of Smithdown Road.
