I'm curious how Koeman will set us up. We haven't improved our wingers yet. Still just Mirallas, Lennon, and Lookman? Bolasie isn't due back soon. Are we going to play with two strikers and a midfield diamond?

Nope.

I banged that particular drum a few weeks back.

You missed out Spurs playing 38 away games as well. There is nothing in the clubs above us that, at the time of writing, we should be afraid of.

You also missed out Jose having a melt down.

I thought they played all of last season at Wembley didn't they? Or did they move there in the middle of the season?

Just loooled then, did they only play CL games there? I thought I saw a league game there. My bad

We still need 1 x CB 1 x LB 1 X CF If we can sign quality in these positions the top 4 is realistic. We have spent well, bought a mixture of ages and experience.
Look at the opposition

City....... ageing squad need major new signings, Yaya, Silva, Kompany, not the players they were, keeper, very dodgy
RS........ defensively woeful, Cutiniho, possibly going, need major investment
Chelsea.... Costa going, missed Lukaku, manager not happy
Spurs......... bottled it twice in 2 seasons, still a threat
Arsenal...... Sanchez and Ozil holding the club to ransom, Wenger on very thin ice, Giroud going ( to us hopefully)
Manure

Manure...... lost the Swede, lost Wazza, back four over rated, keeper still wants out

Blue coloured glasses?
perhap blue tinted yes. United are definitely stronger. I guess it is too early to gauge progress on others just yet.

I know this thread is a point in time thing but I am concerned we are yet to see the real big spending from the existing top 6

Success = 1st-4th in the PL; or FA Cup win or LC win or EL win.

Failure = anything outside that ^^^
Is right Dave lad...
Said for a long time Moyes>Martinez, nice to see others agreeing.

Think Koeman will do well to catch either's greatest hits tbh.

We have to get cup or a CL spot.

Dont get any of them - we're just existing.

That's what I'll be judging on.
I was at the dentist today (I told the story of why I needed to go in the Sigurdsson thread so won't repeat it here), and my dentist, who is more of a rugby guy, was saying how much air time Everton has had recently and that he is thinking of following them a lot more closely. I warned him that he will become a fan!!!

Mood until kickoff of the Stoke match:

Right up until we do down 0-1 at home to Stoke...

He's a steady Eddie. I expect him to get about what we got last season having recycled about £150M.

Then he'll find out what getting his own teeth pulled feels like.

I'm used to Everton disappointing me - there's a long way to go for them to revert to past form.

But as of now, delighted with it. Lukaku gone, strong re-inforcements that even make Rooney's predictable retirement trip "home" tolerable.

say this every year but silverware is something i see as a huge possibility this season. the amount of hard working leaders we've got in the squad now compared to under martinez is astounding. with four competitions and a squad that actually wants to win games and isn't okay with mediocrity we've got plenty of chances to win something.
